I would imagine that you probably look normal. But if you feel that you may be a little overweight (which I'm sure you're not), my advice would be to give it time. Since you're only 13, you body has a lot of time to develop, in which time you may find that you'll get taller and grow into yourself more. But in the meantime, don't beat yourself up for it.

Another method would be to exercise. I would say to cut down on all the food that you eat (i.e. don't drink soda, no snacks in between meals) and power walk or jog for a half hour every day. At first it may be tough, but if you're really adament about losing a few extra pounds, you will. Since you're younger, you'll find that shedding pounds will happen a lot quicker than you think.

Also, 30 pounds is entirely too much. You would probably notice a difference only losing about 10 (please don't lose any more than that!). You can healthily lose that much in about a month. But always remember that there's no such thing as a diet. If you're not eating correctly as it is, and you start to, you must always stay that way. Going back to the bad food will only gain back the weight. A diet implies that you'll stay on it for a little bit, and then go back once you feel comfortable with yourself.

Best of luck!

According to the BMI calculator you a barley normal. But you are on the verge of being overweight. To be at your most desirable weight you should be about 115 pounds. But it depends a lot on your body type. If you are a large framed very muscular person you may weigh more and still not be over-fat than others that genetically carry less muscle tissue and are smaller framed.

I am sorry for you and for most girls around there of your age. Your way of thinking is clearly in response of how the media projects people should be. Unfortunately what you see on the media, magazines, tv, films doesn't live up to reality. Most girls on magazines or in any other place don't look as good as they do in person. Julia Roberts, I believe it was, was once quoted as saying, "I wished I looked as good as Julia Roberts" meaning even she knew that her pics were not how she looks when she looks in the mirror.

The way you think is how most girls your age think. You seem to think that you have to lose weight in order to be normal. The truth is you are alredy normal. You don't have to do anything to be normal. You are already unless you develp some serious mental illness, but that's another story.

People will always see you as you see yourself. Often times better than you see yourself. Anyhow... I just wanted you to know that you don't have to go into a serious starvation program to feel good. You should feel good about yourself because you are unique and because you are loved by I am sure many as you are.

you are completely normal, you want to be your own person and unique like God made you! Everyone is different and it has taken me the longest time to figure that out, so be less stubborn than i was and just take it to heart. If you really want to lose weiht, eat breakfast, dont eat after 6:00 pm and run, walk or exercise! Then you will be normal no matter how much you weigh!

You are not overweight, but you are considered 'at risk of becoming overweight' by official BMI standards for teens.

I'd suggest losing a little weight, but you don't need to go to extremes and start dieting down to ridiculous weights. Losing 10lb-15lb would be more than adequate. Good luck and take care : )

No, you are fine. Calculating your body mass index yields 24.6.

Normal values are 18-25.
Overweight: 25-30
Obesity: more than 30

So, I think you are a beautiful teenager and you're ok. If you want to lose 2-5 pounds at the most is ok, but 30 pounds is way too much!

And please don't compare yourself to those anorexic artists and celebrities you see!

Your HS or junior high has athleatics I would recomend joining a team and working out with other people your own age 5 times a week. Not only is it fun but it will help in getting you in shape.

My God, you certainly don't need to lose "at least" 30 pounds to be "normal." That's crazy talk. You might be slightly heavy for your height, but not much! If you want to get in better shape, eat more sensibly and exercise. That's all.

definitely, yes it is overweight, unfortunately. doctors have come up with a measuring system to determine what is normal and not normal weight according to age, weight, and height. it is called a BMI calculator, which stands for body mass index. your BMI is 24.56, and for a 13 year old your BMI should be between 15.3 and 22.6
