assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatahu
may the peace and blessings of Allah be with u

dear brother, when u read the quran try understanding it with an open mind. and also while quoting something try reading the verses next to it. when u say that this verse is preaching non-violence, then try reading the verses that are next to it also. then you will know what Allah is speaking of. please for ur Lord's sake

there have been many people who have given quotes from quran saying that Allah asks u to kill infidels or non-beleivers. but how many people know what a infidel is in islam.

in·fi·del (nf-dl, -dl)
n.
1. An unbeliever with respect to a particular religion, especially Christianity or Islam.
2. One who has no religious beliefs.
3. One who doubts or rejects a particular doctrine, system, or principle

if this is the infidel u are talking and linking to islam, then u are wrong. an infidel is not a man/woman from the opposite Faith. it simply means a person who is leading astray from the STRAIGHT PATH, which leads to God. in layman terms, it means, a person who commits sin. and every right religion and God will say the same thing.

I do not use the term infidel.

I view polytheists as being mistaken rather than infidels. However, even polytheists believe in a highest God.

I agree that we should believe in One True God.

However, I believe that force should never be used to further such belief.

Cordially,
John

I cannot answer to their God's at the end of my life. I can only answer to my God. So no I don't consider them infidels, they are right to choose to believe in whoever they want to.

Conservative guy ur a jackass making fun of his God. His God is just as real as yours. But back to the question, just because someone believes in a different number of gods then you doesnt make him or her a bad person, for all you know they could have the right religion

People who have one true God should not worry all the time about other Gods that they don't even believe exist. Yet people who have one God get obsessed about other people who believe in other Gods. Calm down. Just believe in your God and forget about the others or your life will just slip by you year by year as you focus on this issue, which has no ultimate meaning for you.

well, i am jewish, and while i dont think infidel is a word that jews have ever used (i have never heard it used, at least) we generally think that monotheism is true and polytheism is not true.

infidel tends to imply that that the person by nature is corrupted and an enemy, which is a nonbiblical belief

i think that many monotheists misunderstand this issue. most polytheists view each deity as a different personification of one divine truth, or showing a different side of divinity.

and if we go ahead and say that humans are made in the likeness of god, or that there is some form of divinity in each person, even the more..."unsavory" deities are expressions of the beauty of the divine in every person.

There is a verse in psalms that describes gods who have eyes, but they cannot see. Ears, but they cannot hear, mouths, but they cannot speak.

There is only one God..the God of the bible, and only one way to God, by Jesus Christ. All other gods are as powerless...and false, as the ones spoken of in this bible verse.

I'm not sure I would call them infidels. But I would say that they are wrong.
