From Belgium: Stella Artois, Leffe, Duvel
From Germany: almost any lager, hefeweizen (wheat beer - delicious)
From the Netherlands: Grolsch
From Mexico: Dos Equis, Corona, Bohemia
From the US: Anchor Steam Beer, Fat Tire Ale

I'm don't make a habit of drinking beer very often. So, if I'm drinking it, it has to be good. Barley wine is my favorite. I make my own actually. It's full body, black, with about an 18% alcohol as opposed to the 5-8% in your store bought beers. It's tasty, smooth, foamy, and it's great with any kind of meal. The closest I've been able to come to in taste with commercial beers is ***** Modela from Mexico.

I can also make the yellow colored Cerveza which is the stronger equivalent to Corona beer, but it's not really my favorite. I agree with most of the people here, the Corona/Pacífico Claro style beer is good with good with salt and lime, but it doesn't really taste like beer to me. It's more like a carbonated margarita.

In any case, if there's one thing Mexico is good at, it's beer making. I actually find that the Modelo Especial is just as good as any German lager I've had.

I used to work in a brewery run by a family with their own recipes. Before it was bought out by a commercial brewery, they had some of the best beers you can imagine. Not as strong as what I make, but the flavor and body was out of this world. All named after places locally, from around my own home town. Matanzas Bay Berry Ale, A1A Honey Ale, Black Brick Ale...those were the most popular. If you're looking for a good beer, never turn to the commercial brewery, always look to the local family owned places. People who take the time to make quality ales as opposed to mass producing watered down carbonated alcoholic soda water. Enjoy beer as it was back in the days when the only breweries there were was in the local pubs, and you won't go wrong!

Whatney's. It's English and best had on tap at a Pub. Rich and Dark! I also love Heineken Dark. Yummy. Once we had hamburgers and beer on the waterfront at Charlotte Amalie, Virgin Islands, for breakfast. That was too much fun.
