There is no one answer to it though.
Some girls, in the beginning "think" they are in love but they really aren't. They are looking for someone to be their prince charming and swoop in and save them from all their problems. This is a very immature girl.
Some girls pretend to be in love because they are afraid to be alone and will jump on anyone that comes along.
Some girls pretend to be in love for security. Money, gifts, the spoils of life.
It almost always boils down to the same reason though.
Insecurity.

I guess when I was young I want to impress the guy that I liked a lot. I was afraid he wouldn't like who I really was. So I saying anyone who pretends is insecure.

Because being in love has been popularized by the media as the pentultimate emotion. Young people--girls AND boys are often confused by the excitement that powerful emotions can bring and they find it difficult to engage in open and free and true relationships.

because women dont fall in love. they lure you in so that they can crush you and then they throw you off their porch so some other woman can lure you in and do the same.
my solution: let it go. give up. its the best thing you will ever do for yourself. plus you will have just yourself to worry about. that means lots of extra money for yourself and it is a really great thing.
