50 lbs is the limit per checked bag on British Airways and American Airlines. It used to be 70 lbs but they've reduced the amount.

I'm assuming you were referring to the luggage and not to the weight of the passenger? !!

Most airlines...

0-50 pounds free
51-70 or 75 pounds- $25
71 or 76 pounds - 99 pounds $100

Any weight over 100 pounds will not be accepted because it is considered "Cargo" and airlines do not except "cargo" from passengers.

hope this helps

this is based on 3 airlines, but many are different

If you are traveling from US / Canada to another international destination then you are allowed 2 baggages of 23 kgs each else anywhere round the world its 20kgs and is mentioned on the ticket... this is universal IATA rule for all airlines.. This is excluding the 5 Kgs which you can carry as handbag.. (currently some airlines to UK and US are not allowing it)

normally it's about 20 Kg for regular airlines, and 10 Kg for low cost. I always watch them weigh my luggages but they're not too strict. There're some allowances, +/- few kg.

Not much at all nowdays. They are really into charging that overweight fee whenever they can. Cheaper to ship a box or two ahead if you can. Most hotels will hold it for you or American Express if your using the card.

i don't think it goes by weight i think if you can't comfortably fit in one seat than they charge you for two seats--but won't give you a discount if you can't fill one seat--how fair is that?
