First I want to say, We only welcome you, If you are truly, here to fight for AMERICA, and not Mexico......

Next, you have been miss informed, I have a friend from Ireland, who came, over, here... And she became a Naturalized Citizen,
all she had to do was pass the Immigration Test. And then she was a US Citizen.

Ok, http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/natz/index.htm this is the website address....

A child adopted either in the United States or abroad by a citizen parent (in this case your step dad) and admitted to the United States as a lawful permanent resident before reaching the age of 18 years may be naturalized if the child is:
(1) adopted before reaching the age of 16 by the citizen parent(s);
(2) is residing in the United States in the custody of the adopting
citizen parent(s), pursuant to a lawful admission for permanent
residence;
(3) at least one of the citizen parents files Form N-643, "Application for Certificate of Citizenship in Behalf of an Adopted Child," before the child reaches the age of 18, with the Immigration and Naturalization
Service; and
(4) the parents are citizens at the time of filing the application.

I am also a permanent resident myself! I don't know everything about immigration laws, but I know somethings. How long have your parents been married? Did your step dad adopt you at some point in your life? You can acquire citizenship through adoption from a us citizen considering you are a minor child (under 18). You are a lawful permanent resident and that's a really good thing! You will qualify to naturalize ( at least your mom) in three years of the date she was granted permanent residence , provided she is still married to him or can prove abuse by her husband! If you were under 18 in three years you could apply together with her! However , if you are a full time student , there may be an exception! Check out USBCIS.gov for more info or type in your search engine FREE INS FORMS! Every form is there and it won't hurt to look through them and see if anything pertains to your case ! Worst case scenario, you will qualify in FIVE YEARS as most permanent residents do ! So don't loose heart, or try to rush it! You will eventually become a US Citizen!

I work for an immigation lawyer. You are eligible for naturalization after the age of 18 if you have been in the U.S. for 5 years a a permanent resident. You file form N-600 with the USCIS office responsible for where you reside. the process takes about a year after which you have to take an oath and a citizenship test.

If you are under 18 and your parents naturalize, you automatically get citizenship of you are listed on their application.

I think you have to be a legal resident for 6 years before being able to apply for citizenship. I'm not sure if they change the laws on citizenship for civilians. In the Military it's different. Its 2 years.

It relies upon on the question. See, if it rather is somebody soliciting for a itemizing of flicks or music, I study first so as that i do no longer repeat solutions and that they get the biggest determination of diverse concepts as feasible. If it rather is greater of a "what's Your Opinion?" question, I in basic terms form as i think.

Do either of your parents know the answer? Call the lawyers office and ask the receptionist where your papers are filed and how you can get a copy of them?

i don't think that's true that you can become a naturalized citizen at the age of 18 b/c of schooling, i think you can becoem one anytime. i was born in another country, but both my parents were american, and i became a naturalized u.s. citizen when i was 4.
