Hi Brian, I have been around a while and in that time have wondered about the nub of your question. I have discovered, through questions, analysis and intuition, that I am here to just stretch others. To present people with alternative views that I know they have trouble accepting, but in such a way they just might think about it. This is not something I set out to do, its who I am. God simply uses what he has to work with. Its not much, but it took me a while to understand and appreciate it at all and, I am happy He has SOME purpose for me. Actually its kinda cool.

.Where are you in your life now? Why are you not in the same place as I am? What are you preoccupied with at present? Why am I not doing what you are doing? Why is your home not my home? Aren't those question part of specifics that you do not see and notice? The only time that you can answer your question is when you try to look within yourself and know the reason why you should exist for what reason. No amount of my own experience can help you find what is your specific purpose for your existence except you. Your role may not be as significant as the other but still you are born for a specific purpose. No matter how simple, no matter how great.

There are many. One could be that I graduated high school barely but none the less I graduated. Another could be that I was able to become a mother not only to my own children but a mother to my nephew as well. Another could be that I was almost raped walking home from school (that made me a stronger person). Everything in my life has happened for a reason. I think some areas in my life happened to make me a stronger woman. I have a child that is autistic. I know I have always enjoyed working with people that have disabilities because when a person has a disabilty, often times you do not notice because they are just a kind person. I am not saying God gave me a child with autism for a reason, the only logical thinking I can come up with is I was blessed with my son because God knew I would be the best mother for him. I know that God does not give us any more than he thinks we can handle.

I was adopted but my birthmother and I are now in reunion. She told me that when she found out she was pregnant with me she was scared and not able to take care of me. I know that she never went to the doctor when she was pregnant with me and I know that she drank/did drugs while pregnant. She made two different appointments at the abortion clinic. Each time she went she walked out and just couldn't go thru with it. Needless to say 27 years later I am perfectly normal, graduated at 17, had 12th grade reading level in first grade, have a wonderful family and great friends. Have a executive level job... nothing in my life shows how I was brought into this world but I know the truth :o)

My father, at 91 years old, accepted Jesus four days before he died. I was 54 years old at the time. My Dad and I never had a good relationship. When I was 44, I came to know Jesus Christ. That is when I began praying for my father.

My older sister is in terrible trouble, and so is her daughter. Their lives are spinning out of control. I am praying for them. I believe our family has been in satan's sights ever since I can remember.

I think God put me in this family to pray for them. He showed me that one day, we are all going to walk together into the kingdom of God. Just as I couldn't see how He was going to save my father, I don't see how the horrible trouble in my sister's family will be resolved.

But I know, because He reached down and saved my father....nothing is impossible for God. If my entire existence is about praying for the people in my family, I would consider that a life well worth living.

I have been able to do amazing things from healing the sick to reading minds. I believe these things show that I am bound for something. Don't know what yet. I also seem to always be at the right place at the right time.

In response to your question... see link below...

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

What is our purpose?

The Christian God indicates that one reason why he created the Universe, was for life to exist, and for humans to exist.

Our Universe is His "art project"; that is why it is so incredibly beautiful. And our Universe is His "scientific and engineering" creation; that is why it is so full of science and engineering, and we are learning this as we crawl in his footsteps via mathematics, physics, cosmology and molecular biology.

Earth is boot-camp for humans to come into relationship with him, and then for our experiences to provide opportunities for us to grow.

We fulfill the purpose for which God created us when we choose to come into relationship with the Christian God (based on what Jesus did for us on the cross)... and then live in daily relationship with Him.

For a brief explanation of how to come into relationship with the God of the Universe, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/new/essence.html

Cordially,
John

My mom was told she'd never carry a child to term and I almost died at birth. Guess there's some reason I made it though, I just don't know why.

Honestly? Nothing yet, except maybe my firm belief that religion stays out of government and that our society can't get by without non-profit organizations. Nothing exactly stands out.
