the answer is NO... I know several people who home school and they do not get paid... and they pay taxes so they are paying for their kids to go to public school, even though they are not using it.

I have a friend homeschooling her 6 children and she does not get paid. I know she sends all of their papers back and forth to the state but she definitely does not get paid. I don't know if she pays for the books or not. I will have to ask her.

Now there's a novel idea!!!!
But, who would pay me?
Myself?
That would be like getting paid for babysitting your own child.... Or cutting your own hair.... Or cleaning your own house.

Now, MY idea (changing the subject) is that we should change the public school system to a VOLUNTARY attendance program. What would happen to the quality of education if it was all voluntary? Parents could choose when, if and where to send their children. Children would perhaps want to study hard to become the adults with the best jobs and the best pay.......
hmmmmm???? whatcha'all think about that?

I home schooled for 7 years and never got paid here in California. There are programs out there that are charter schools which give you so much per student per year (about $1,400) but you order through their vendors so you get the materials (most of which you get to keep in some programs) but you never get any actual cash.

No. You pay your taxes that fund the public schools even though your child does not go. Then you have to shell out whatever you spend on your own.

Of course not. Why would you, and who do you think should be paying? No one else employed you for that job.
