I tried to call my dog or yell at him but he didnt hear anything I guess because no reaction. Just when I give out some sign, then he comes to me. I wondering how to get him off it. He is just 4 months old. I had him for 3 months and use that name to call him untill now so I think he must get used to that name.

When he sleeping say something to see if he wake, be careful not to stomp your feet or that type of noise as he may feel the vibration and wake, giving you a false experiment. Then if he not wake try snapping your fingers close to his ear and see if he wake. If the snap of your fingers wake him and not a noise far away he may be Deaf, buy him a cheap hearing aid and get him used to using it. May have to find a way to keep it in his ear. IF, he not wake to any sounds at all, then he way past deaf and any medical help such as a hearing aid.

One of the reasons dogs are called "man's best friend" is because they get the same illness and can be born with the same defects as us. Like with a human, if a dog goes deaf due to an illness, it depends on the illness whether or not it can be treated.

Yes, dog's can become deaf... And I've also seen a dog with a hearing aid on TV before. =P So, I'm guessing it /can/ be cured... Or helped, at least....

a lot of dalmatians are born deaf, some dogs go deaf over time, it's just like people really... It could be fixed, but I don't think a lot of people would spend thousands of dollars to get a dog a cochlear implant

What antibiotic reasons deafness? Ive on no account heard of something like that. I had a deaf canines who replaced into exceedingly very like a common canines. I had to wave to get his interest, and then i'd desire to apply indicators to inform him what to do. canines tend to greater in music with physique language than speech, besides.

He might not be deaf. But it is possible for dogs to be deaf. The next time you take him to the vet, ask the vet if he is deaf. I dont think deafness can be cured.

yes, dogs can be born deaf and dogs can become deaf as they get older. all dalmatians that are born all-white (no spots) are deaf, but they can still become great dogs and many people teach their deaf dogs sign language to teach them commands. deaf animals also respond to vibrations in the ground, so sometimes that helps when trying to get your deaf pet's attention.

Does he know his name? Did you just get him? He doesn't show any signs of hearing any noise(pirking ears or looking in that directing?) Yes dogs can be deaf but there is no cure.

Many dogs lose hearing as they age, just like many humans do. Some breeds, like Dalmations, are prone to deafness.
