Yes, they do; but they can cause some serious problems. Do not take these things. The best way to lose weight is to eat a healthy diet, drink 6 to 8 glasses of fluid a day, exercise regularly. If you feel you cannot do these things, then talk to your doctor. Stay away from those pills.

Yes and no to your answer actually.
You see, diet pills are mostly short term solutions as they work through prevention of the absorption of fats in your diet, reduction in calorie intake, suppresion of appetite.. etc etc..
But what happens when you stop taking them?
You see..weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy. (You can see my before and after pictures here: http://dreamsincredibles.blogspot.com/2005/10/angel-lost-15kg-within-2-months.html )
You see, we are what we are today because of our past... our past actions.. these actions are decided by our decisions in what to eat and whether to exercise lead and they lead us to having this figure today..
These decisions come from your mindsets.
Now, suppose you lose the weight by taking diet pills.. but if your mindsets and decisions are the same.. and so your actions are the same. So you would continue to eat as you did after you stop the diet pills?
After three months, you probably will not maintian your weight loss but instead go back to square one.. dun you agree? ;) Most people even put on more than they have lost cos they tend to overeat to make up for not eating.
So it is impt to get your mindsets right first.
Not to mention, most diet pills have got side effects and are not very good for the body.
I would say a sound diet and good exercise are better solutions. If you want faster results, at least do a proper detox program.

Hi,
Its important that you know about these pills first. Diet and weight loss pills are widely advertised as quick method to lose weight. These are food supplements and are not regulated by the FDA or any authority. Some weight loss pills may help you lose weight for a short time, but after a month or so, the body becomes immune to them.
I found information on these pills and their side effects at

Than I tried Hoodia and......
Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.
For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:
Asker's Rating: *****
very good comment i lost 2 lbs in a week
i think i can almost get in my leather dress, i can hit the town in no time
**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---
#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!
#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!
#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.
#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!
Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii - A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.
Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

Not really. Consult your doctor prior to starting diet pills. If you want to lose weight or just to feel better, just do it the old fashion way. Eat balanced meals and exercise regularly. If you do not like to jog or exercise, at least walk for 30mins 3 times a week. Good luck to you.

most that are on the market work. but theyre not best to rely on. its better off to say that they work for supporting a healthy diet. but i've tried many diet pills which all worked. it was just a matter of sticking to it and not quiting.

Anti-obesity drugs include all pharmacological treatments intended to reduce or control fatness. Because these drugs are intended to alter one of the fundamental processes of the human body, anti-obesity drugs are medically prescribed only in cases of morbid obesity, where weight loss is life-saving.

do not insist on them much as they will surely damage your liver in future
