I think it is because when you ask your parents they are not impartial to your questions, depending on what the question is.

Also Some parents are busy, and do not have as much time with their children as they should, making it harder for their kids to have there well needed time and attention.

I also think that they get more answers from people here, even if its a question that they should be asking their parents...Just think maybe they do ask their parents even after posting a question here...that way they get a wider range of answers to the question they are seeking.

it is alot easier to look a at a computer then it is to look there parents in th eye. alot of kids know that their parents probably won't give them the answer they want. alot of kids also are scared that their parents will judge them.they don't realize that their parents tell them what is best for them, not like some of the weirdos they can run into on-line. they do not realize that their parents never want to see them suffer where as a stranger doesn't care.

Well, some kids don't feel they can talk to their parents about certain things that they post. They probably feel that their parents just won't be able to help them. This is understandable. Sounds crazy, but I would actuallly feel better talking to complete strangers about my problems, than confronting my parents.

Because they can ask people on here and not have them bug them or worry what they are thinking of them. Usually they trust the answers from us more because children never view their parents as having the same types of past experiences as they need advice about. Its not that they don't value your advice its just how they view things.
