Unable to work I have to rely on the check from Social Security to pay my bills and raise my two kids it is not very much money But I am so thankful for paying into it.
But do not feel it is right for our Government to allow illegal immigrants to be allowed access to these funds that law abiddeing citizens paid into.
And when our Gov. tells us we need to revamp the SSI because it will run out in 20yrs. This is not the only time they have let people have access to the funds but never paid into it. In 1977 the Gov. brought refugees into this Country to help them out gave them houseing and our SSI This Gov. spends more money on illegals and other Countries than they do on our own.

The Gov. should the money from other places then the SSI program that we pay into.
The Gov. reminds me of Enron and there 401K they took and spent somewhere else.now no 401K.Like us soon no SSI.Should they?

Your right-you are the people who get hurt the most. The disable, than elderly than the poor by Illegals getting benefits. Hurt to help is not the best way. I think we need to take care of the citizens first than reach out.
As far as someone saying the war--that is not going to happen-military needs will always be there. But we can stop the other--and that is a fact. Illegals rather they mean to or not are hurting our benefits for others.

You are right. W and even past administrations want to take care of everybody outside of the country before they take care of their own citizens. Public schools are underfunded and under achieving with most not having enough computers, current textbooks, bathrooms that work, etc. Our roads are falling apart and the truckers are having to pay more to keep running on an infrastructure that is falling apart. Our health care, for those that work and those that can't, plainly, is a worldwide embarassment. But we can start wars, spend money on curing aids in foreign countries ( and there is no cure ) that don't really want our money, support dictators ( previously the Shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden when he was commanding forces against the attempted Russian invasion ) and yet we can't take care of one quadriplegic and his kids? And this is the greatest country on the planet? I can see W now standing up in the United Nations - my guns are bigger and more powerful than yours and I don't mind using them!!!!

Well put and I'm sorry for your situation. You sound like a good person. I don't think these policies are fair and I know that a lot of people are in your shoes and that's why I so vehemently take the stance that I do regarding immigration. The system is in place to take care of our own first. If there's any left, it should be put back into the system.

Changing laws about various programs that Congress has deliberately approved will not put more money into your pocket. If you want the laws changed, write your senators and congressmen.
