I am in love with my best friend. We do everything together and we know everything about each other. But how do I know if he wants to be more than friends like I do? What signs should I be looking for?

This sounds so familiar. My son and his girlfriend went through the same thing. They have been together for a long time. We have a beautiful grand daughter because of this. If it's meant to be the signs will be very clear to you ! We love our grand daughter so much ! As well as her mom !

ooooh that's a tricky one.
I wouldn't come straight out and ask becoz even though there's probably only a 2% chance they don't feel the same, you wouldn't want to risk destroying the close friendship you already have.
Try to give sutle hints that the feelings are there for you, for example. While watching a romantic comedy together you could say something along the lines of "i'd love it if i had a bf/gf and they were funny like Adam Sandler" and then pause for a moment and say "maybe that's why I hang around you so much, coz you've got a good sense of humor."
and then watch how they react.
Try to be sutle if your really not sure but if you already have feelings and you are close enough to be bestfriends, there are pretty good chances they feel something for you too.

I'll say verbal communication. Just ask the guy. Is everybody scared to talk and be direct and assertive? As far as gestures and stuff, try this... If you bend over and show him some cleavage or some booty and then grab his manhood, and you find him erect, he likes you!
