Well teachers are human being also-- so the people they are most likely to meet are other teachers-- so they end up dating and marrying each other. The other people that teachers meet are students-- and that also happens-- teachers dating students-- which I think is completely inappropriate- breaking boundries.

Also just because teachers may date each other-- its probably best not to discuss their personal lives too much with there students.

In 1972 I had a great 5th grade teacher. I few years later I found out that he was gay-- and unfortunatley he died of Aids in the 1980's. I think that if he had told our class about his personal life it may have been a distraction to our learning.

Also my mother was an English teacher (who is happily married for over 45 years to my father-- an Engineer). She would tell me stories about her colleagues dating and sleeping with other colleagues (one actually involved a scandolous relationship with a female music teacher and married male math teacher-- whose wife subsequently was killed-- the event was in the media and eventually became a t.v. movie that is shown on the WE channel every few years).
Since I wasn't a student in her school district-- i didn't care..

i hope this response tells you my feelings about the subject.

Teaching isn't an easy professional, and teachers need someone who can understand the pressures of their job to be supporting - I know a teacher who's partner is a farmer and he does NOT get what she has to go through, and it causes a lot of grief for her because he's constantly complaining about the fact that her job doesn't end at 3:20pm. So, who is better to understand a teacher than another teacher?

Having said that, telling the students the details isn't appropriate.

A question for you: would you be bothered if two of your teachers were married to each other?

There is nothing creepy about teachers dating one another. In fact, since those are the adults they see most often and have much in common with, it would be weird if they didn't date.

What is creepy is the assumption that dating equals sex.

What is even creepier, and should be reported to the administration, is the teachers bringing their private lives into the classroom for your entertainment, as well as the fact that while they are regaling you with their exploits, you aren't learning anything you came there to learn.

Your teachers have some serious boundary issues.

Its bad business......That is one of the reasons education is so bad.

Teachers should not be allowed to marry or date other teachers.
As a male teacher I had alot of female teachers that were attracted to me but I prefered not to get involved with women I worked with. Its just bad business.

The problem though is education is not run like a business. Its run like a "family" Where teachers marry administrators. They do favors for one another and higher their family members. The end result is a school that is not run efficiently . They higher incompitent relatives and friends....they gossip ....nothing get done.....The students lose out on a good education. T

Teachers dating teachers is really not so unusual as the majority of couples meet in the work place.
