No, and I have never heard of that concept used in that manner. I do believe the number seven is important in the bible and its use, but not when it comes to the ability of someone to hear the gospel. I think a persons ability to hear the gospel depends on their willingness and openess to it as well as God's timing. There are people who have heard it once and accepted and there are people who it took years of hearing it before they finally accepted it.

I'm sorry for answering your question and not being Christian. It scares me that you are trying to become a pastor and can't spell the name of your lord, "Chrsit". And you get ignorant Christians who can't answer your question what so ever, like the answer given by "I heart someone", :"i have no clue....but i do kno that 666 is the devils mark and shouldnt be messed around wit". So my answer anyways would be that there is some symbolism in the Bible, occasionally with numbers (7 days creation, 7's of Revelations; Jesus was tempted for 40 days, the Flood was 40 days and 40 nights, etc.), but you have to ask yourself if your trainers are getting this from the Bible or some survey.

Well, I hate to give a negative non-Christian answer when you asked so nicely for me not to, but, in my experience, seventy times was not enough for it to "stick", though conversion by persistence was not a tact I had thought of outside of Jehovah's Witnesses. Take JWs for example, they often visit the same house seven or more times, however neither party accepts anything from the other. The innocent homeowner does not relent and let the JW in and the JW does not relent and leave the poor guy alone. Seven sounds like a pretty arbitrary number to me. Some things were not meant to be accepted.

Yes, I believe there is something to 7 in the Bible. God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th. Instituting the 7 day week.
My understanding is that the number 7 represents perfection. Just like the number 40 represents completeness.

Wow I never thought of it that way, but you possibly may be heading in the right direction. Good luck on your pastoral training.
I heard it all the time and I didn't even accept until I was in like 8th grade. I am now 30.

Biblical Numerology. 7 is the number of completion/perfection.
Yes, it is very significant in Revelation.
(He gives some eyes to see and ears to hear and some not)
So hearing it seven times without ears does nothing???

My mom has always said that if one person hears something about Jesus, then someone else will come along and sow the seeds and they will realize they need to be saved. Ive also always heard that 7 is God's number!

Not everyone needs seven times, and some people may never get it.
