There are no fallacies in the bible, and I don't say that in any way but in friendship. John the Baptist baptized people just as the bible said he did. He also baptized Jesus.

Keep reading....it gets even more interesting from there. :)

Yes, my friend, John actually baptized souls for the Kingdom of God.. and he did so, in the River Jordan in Israel, which runs right into the Dead Sea!

He baptized them right up to the point that Jesus appeared to him.

But I find you question most disturbing. Just how many of YOUR so-called "fallacies" do you suggest exists within the Bible anyway? I have found it to be a book of "Fact"! Is there anything that you can actually prove to be anything more than that?

Yes. He is mentioned by the Jewish Historian Josephus as a baptizer.

There is a small group in the Middle East, Mandaeans, believe John the Baptist, called Yahya in the Sidra d-Yahia (Book of John), was the last and greatest of the prophets. While Mandaeans agree that he baptized Jesus they reject the latter as either a saviour or prophet. And they viewed John as the only true Messiah.

Yes, he did actually baptise people. It (baptism) was already being used by the Jewish people as a rite of passage for prosetlytes (non-jewish converts to judaism), usually done prior to circumcision or for women. Baptism symbolises the death and burial of the "old self" or "old life".

John, however, baptised people who were already Jews, and who wanted a new start in life. People wanting a second chance flocked to him: prostitutes, drunks, tax collectors (considered traitors by their countrymen). He also called people on their sins, and didn't flinch at calling out the shortcomings of the religious and political elite. This did not win him many friends.

The religious leaders had a problem with John baptising people who were already Jewish! After all, weren't they already "God's chosen people"? This was a scandalous thing--to suggest that being born Jewish wasn't enough in God's eyes! That is why they had such a problem with it (John baptising Jews). The only people they could think of that would have the authority to do so, would be the Prophet (Elijah returned) or the Christ (Messiah).

John readily admitted that he was not the Messiah, and did not consider himself a prophet. His open rebuke of the political leader of the time, Herod Antipas, got his head cut off.

Jesus Christ stated, "different than a guy be born of water and of the Spirit, he can't enter into the dominion of God" (Jn 3:5). Even Jesus Christ Himself became into baptized (Matt 3:13–17). many human beings have lived on the earth who on no account heard of the gospel of Jesus Christ and who weren't baptized. Others lived with out completely awareness the magnitude of the ordinance of baptism. nevertheless others have been baptized, yet with out suited authority. as a results of fact he's a loving God, the Lord does not damn those people who, with the aid of no fault of their own, on no account had the prospect for baptism. He has hence approved baptisms to be complete with the aid of proxy for them. the recent testomony exhibits that baptisms for the ineffective have been accomplished during the time of the Apostle Paul (a million Cor 15:29). each and every person, for whom this ceremony has been complete, has the choice to settle for or reject this baptism in the afterlife. it is barely binding if the guy accepts it

John the Baptist was a real person and he did baptize people. A cave was recently found in Israel where they believe he performed the baptisms.

JW are ya? Get a real bible, a real faith and a real life.

You sound like the serpent: "Yea, hath God said?" Trying to cast a shadow of doubt in people's minds about the veracity of God's Word.

Well, HE WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR JESUS CHRIST wasn't he? Also, he was Jesus cousin, older by 6 months, when Mary came to visit Johns Mother, Elizabeth, John LEAPT in her womb because he recognized the holiness of the child in her womb. So, I guess that's a testimony of his love for his "cousin."
