if we had religious leaders pray for the nation and listening and abiding to God word then this place wont be so bad and become a better place to live.

You believe in a hell? Then please go to it. How dare you be so prejudiced when you are only one of those that try to tell us how we are instead of finding out from US who we are as people. What you are saying is the same thing as putting prejudice and stereotypes on blacks (and other races) and women and saying they can never be in the government either. Being a non believer is not the same as being a communistic country, idiot.
You have tried to control us and others for a long time, at least if we had power in the government 99% of us would agree that you should have freedom to believe what you want. But that's what WE have learned through the centuries of being a bit oppressed by people like you over what we believe.

Sorry that is a lie, or you travel the world you will find out that
they do have religions. All because there state religion is atheism
does not mean that the nation is atheist. That is does mean that
the state controls the religion, in a way this can be good or bad.
Alway by the looks of things I'm worried about counties that have religious leaders in control G. W. Bush (God told me to goto war with Iraq), Britian follow. Oh that was hitlers religion again, and damn how many wars have been based on religion....

The Inquisition. The Crusades. The witch trials. The Holy Roman empire.
...any of that sound familiar?
FYI, neither China nor North Korea are atheistic. Contrary to typical Christian propoganda, China actually allows religious freedom. North Korea has a national religion. But you're right that Stalin and Pol Pot rank as high as any other tyrant in history in terms of senseless death.
Perhaps all these are indictments against political systems rather than religious beliefs.
But regardless, the US is already a secular country and has been for over 200 years.

Have you ever heard of The Star Chamber Court, The Inquisitions, The Crusades, The Salem Witch Trials, Manifest Destiny, Jim Jones, or the countless innocent children heinously violated by trusted Christian authorities (to name only a few)???
Do your homework kiddo. Christianity has a long and blood soaked history. The evils committed by atheist pale in comparison to those of the Christians.

Crap. Pure crap. You need to get off this high horse now. The whole christian/atheism thing is not even going on right now. You seem like a bitter person who feels that your GOD is under attack. You are actually being a hyprocrite because you feel that someone, whom is different that you, is not as equal as you and could never do the same thing as you. I think that an atheist would mess up the government just as much any christian has!

Ummmm, communism does not = atheism. The only reason why a communist government cares about religion is that religion stands to take away some of its power.
Most people in the areas you mentioned are actually quite religious. You'll have to do better than hearsay and hoping no one questions your "facts".

I am agnostic but I strongly refuse that ANY religion should have political power. We all know about the Medieval times when the Church had the power... The Atheism would be awful too. "There is no God, so I'm the Tyrant and I'm overruling all." That's just terrible.

Interesting thought...but Revelation tells us that not only will an atheist come to power, but even worse...the (or an) antichrist (malicious atheist?). Christians will have God's marking on our foreheads, but those whose heads are not marked by God, will take on the marking of the beast (666). And the way it'll work is that if we don't have 666 on our foreheads or hands, then we won't be able to buy anything...nothing. Now, the 666 is not what it'll say, but more of a calculation of some sort...wisdom is needed to understand it, which may not be possible until it happens. But, my point is, that according to Revelation (chapters 7-13), it WILL happen.
So you're right, it would suck...but the way of looking at it more correctly would be to say that yes...it WILL suck.

Jesus, not all atheists are like that! I bet you're the kind of person that believes atheists refuse to have any friends other than atheists. And the same thing can happen if Christians are in power; they can disallow other religions or atheism. We just need to not vote crazy extremists of any religion in power.
