Well if you consider every female human being a daughter of God, and see our divinity, you might see that God sent a son, to sacrifice himself, so that his daughters could live with him again. We are held up on a pedastal in his eyes, and he couldn't bear to see one of his daughters sacrificed like that. In turn, our brother sacrificed himself to show just such respect for his sisters.

Amen, Amen, Amen Sister!!
Good question, why was it a girl? Since after all that's why he made Eve, to show Adam how to do everything, to hold his hand when he can't face the world alone, to do the wash, do the dishes, do the housework, take care of the kids, cook his flippin dinner, pay the damn bills, fill up the car with gas, get the kids to school, soccer, basketball, football and baseball practice, take the kids shopping for school clothes and school supplies, make their lunch, make sure they have lunch money, help them with their homework, get them in the bath at bathtime, read to them before bed, tuck them into bed, soothe them when they have bad nightmares, make sure the cat is in at night, make sure the dog has food and water, meet the repair men to fix the stuff around the house that he the Man can't seem to do, take the kids to the doctor, the dentist, hod the Man's hand when he goes to the doctor, or the dentist, get all the prescriptions filled when needed, clean up the barf when the kids are sick, or the dog has had to much grass to eat cause the Man forgot to give him some food, buy the Man's underwear, socks, jeans, shirts and cards for his sisters, brothers or mom and dad's birthday's, and finally (I'm sure I am leaving something out, but what the hey) Get a job (As if she didn't have enough jobs already) so they all can have extra money coming in cause the Man can't make enough with his salary alone.
If I have left anything out I am sorry, I tried to think of everything but I'm sure that some gal out there probably has more than the above on her plate each day.
Yes I do believe it would have changed things considerably if God had been blessed with a daughter instead of a son.
Amen, Amen, Amen, Sister.

Back then women were nothing more than chattel and property that were meant to stay home and raise babies. She would never have been a teacher or otherwise so the belief system which became Christianity would never have come into existance at any point. Modern Christianity is the work of Paul, not Christ. Paul was famous for his hatred of women. So if Christ had been a woman instead, Paul would not have exerted any of the time and effort that he did.
Without Christianity, there would have been no holy wars throughout history wiping out entire populations, no radical presidents forcing their religion on everyone else and using that same religion to justify wars overseas, etc etc. The world would have been a completely different place from the get go.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with it, and to many people today, I don't think it would make much of a difference. But I can't imagine most people in Jesus' time reacting in quite the same way. They lived in much more of a "man's world" society than we do today, and I don't think nearly as many people would've listened to a woman like they would a man. Nobody would have taken her seriously.
But it's something interesting to think about. It sure would've changed some things, probably, but the basic idea of God coming to Earth would still be the same, I think.

If god had had a daughter instead of a son, and she did some of the things he did, she would have been stoned to death at age 13 when she stopped to talk to the teachers and rabis in the synagogue.

Spiritually, I don't think things would have changed much. God's message would have been the same. In many other ways, Christianity would have been VERY different.

Don't know what her name would have been but yes, I would tend to think things would be different, especially from a Christian perspective. But it's also interesting to note that quite a few religions do have very important female figures....Catholicism....Mary is one.....Hinduism has some female Goddesses if I am not mistaken......some ancient religions valued female Goddesses.......so the concept isn't as far off as you might think.

That is one question you'll have to jot down somewhere in your notebook, and when you're face to face with God, you'll have to ask.
As to the Amen.. sorry, not from me.

Jesus was not the son of God... not any more or less than any other man who ever lived.

Gal 3:28 There is no Jew or Greek. There is no slave or free person. There is no male or female. Because you belong to Christ Jesus, you are all one.
