There are some people who are "morning person" and some "night person". So depending on when you "peak" you should try to study at that time.

For instance, I am most effective in the morning ~8-10am and at night ~11pm-3am. I use these time to study things that are most important and those that requires me to remember.

My worse timing are ~12 noon to 3pm (sometimes to 5pm) if the afternoon is very hot. I usually take a nap, hang out with friends or read stuff that I am already familiar with just to recap and reinforce. Just don't use non-productive hours to do something important like memorising equations, etc.

A quiet environment is important. If you peak in the day time but you house is noisy, can you take the study elsewhere like in the library or a reading room in school/college? (I study in my college library in the day because there's the TV and bed and everything else)

I have this trick - I drink a little coffee just before I sleep (at about 3am or so) if I need to wake up early for next morning's paper. Before the caffine runs in my blood, I will already be asleep but you will be amaze how alert I feel even if I wake up 3-4 hours later. Very effective for night-riders!

Cheers and good luck for your exam!

If you can study better late at night, then that is when you should study. Just make sure you get enough sleep before you study and get some sleep before you take the test. If you have to sleep during the day or early in the evening and there is noise, then try earplugs.

You could also try earplugs and study earlier in the day so you can get enough sleep. But if you are just going to be constantly bothered while you're studying then try the above.

If you don't get enough sleep, it won't matter how much you study you will still have a hard time writing the test when you're tired.

No. Studying the night just before your exams wouldnt help much. There's also a probability of you having a mental block during exams because of lack of good nights sleep.

It is essential that you're well prepared and also well rested for your exams. Not only does it help, but is also much healthier. Imagine if you continue doing that type of protocol in your work, that type of studying is much more stressful.

What i do recommend to you is that you schedule your studies before the exams. If you can't study during the morning then you can study at night, provided that you do that at least three days BEFORE your exams.

It is also wise to study at the library rather than at your house. The benefit is that it is much quiet there and it also has lots of materials which could help you in your studies.

I'm exactly like that as well. I find myself studying right up to exam time. People always say it's bad for you and you don't learn anything from cramming. They're probably right, but it helps me because it makes me feel like I'm prepared. I actually do horrible on exams where I stop studying by 12 AM the night before, get a good rest, and don't study right before the exam because I feel like I could have studied some more.

It's all up to the individual. I lived with 9 other girls last year. 8 of them including myself could only study at night and we'd often be up til 2 am, sometimes later if a big exam is coming up. The 9th girl absolutely hated us for it. We just felt more energized and ready to concentrate at night

Go to bed early and set the alarm to go off early and study when everyone is asleep. You will be rested and will have the info fresh in your mind. BUT you need to get into a reg habit of it and study every day to make sure you don't have to cram on the day before the test. Always do your homework and then study and you will always be prepared. Ask your parents or dorm guys to set up times for quiet study time everyday for the entire house! Most parents would be happy to oblige!Best wishes!

Go ahead and study, a good night's sleep is necessary, but a good performance is more important.
