Jealous guy!?

The guy I like is friends with my ex. My ex likes one of my best friends and she likes him. The guy Iike likes me back, and my ex is trying to get me not to like the guy anymore. I think my ex is jealous that his friend has someone liking him. My ex has a gf, but likes my friend a lot. Its very confusing. Can anyone give me advice- if you understand this? thanks.
