It's ok, bro, to simply say, "I don't know"
An atheist whom I met online came to my town, and I hosted him for a few days. He wanted to go to a museum of anthropology and I took him. There was the whole cave man scene.
"Oh, I'm sorry," he eventually said. "What do you think of evolution?"
I know he was setting me up, and I so desperately wished I had the "right" explanation, but nothing was there.
"You know," I replied, "I haven't given it a lot of thought. Nor do I have a problem with it."
Now, I could have said, "The problem with evolution is, by reducing us to being merely evolved from apes, we don't have to be accountable for our actions. Not if we're animals."
Or, I could have said --
"Why do they keep changing the explanation?" or, "Why can't they teach creationism side by side in the classroom?"
But all that would have been the arguments of someone better equipped than me. I prefer to be true to myself, and be kind and patient and accepting of others.

Honey, AIDS is not a natural consequence of sin. I'm a Christian, and I've paid enough attention to the SCIENCE dealing with AIDS and other diseases to know it's not a SIN disease. Yes, it can be passed via "sinful acts", but this is not the only way it's passed.
Neither is there a "spirit of retardation". These things are ILLNESSES, or something wrong genetically, etc. They are NOT due to sin, they are due to NATURE.
A spirit of fear, or jealousy, or hate, are different things. These are "feelings", or spiritual conditions, not physical conditions. Likewise, AIDS, retardation, crippled limbs, etc. are physical conditions, not spiritual conditions.

List of things...
1. Devil - Mr Big Bad - likes to scare people
2. Principalities and Powers - spirits behind certain cultural practices (like 'all men are mindless idiots' that is prevailant in some femm circles)
3. Evil Spirits - these include 'petrifying fear' etc...
4. Spirits - ghosts, echos, etc - not usually evil
5. Stuff that just happens because we are in a warped world.
So... you get a puncture on your car tyre - its likely not going to be a spirit or the devil out to get you - its just stuff.
I was a medium and spirtualist before I became a Christian and there are some nasty things out there in the spirit world, but you can't go blaming all stuff on them.

Sometimes, do not search for the answers yourself, but rely on the Holy Spirit to give you the words you need.
Sometimes, the ones asking the questions, aren't really the people but the spirits themselves..a.k.a. demons. They are sent to confuse you, give you self doubt. We, as a people, do not have all the answers, only God does..
Don't ever be afraid to say that you don't know the answer, but that you will try and help to find an answer for them..even say that you will pray for a better understanding.
God bless..

I am a born again Christian and my brother is Downs Syndrome. Mental retardation is caused by a chromosome, not by a spirit. My brother is "mentally retarded" because God made him that way. Some people may think that this is cruel, but I know that God has a very special place in His heart for my brother. I hope this helps.

No, there is no spirit of retardation.
Mental retardation is, in essence, brain damage. This damage is, at times, caused at birth due to 1. not enough oxygen to the brain during birth, 2 Cocaine or other drugs in the blood stream of the mother, 3 Other physical factors (trauma, etc).
Mental retardation can also be caused by events in early childhood. (Thimerosol (which contains mercury) has caused thousands to become autistic and retarded). How does it get into the body? Baby shots.

Wow. That is a deep question and I have never really given it much thought. People who are born with no limbs or a half a limb. Have you noticed that these sort of people have God in their lives. Every one that I have come across where it is mental or physical focus on God more then say the ones like ourselves. They see something in their spiritual lives that we see too. But they seem to be looking into heaven. I have heard them talk about running or swimming riding horses. What ever the event that they want to do it will be done in heaven. There insight seems to be deeper then ours. I love your question my son's classmates were slower then himself and some of them had physical and mental issues. I spent time at playdays at school running with these people. We would crawl if we had to to get to the finish line there were no losers because they all got ribbons for finishing. Not one of them ever spoke against God. They know in their hearts that God made them different for His own reason and the joy of these children I got to know were just filled with abundance of joy from God. We had a few that went to our church when I lived in another state then where I am living now. They couldn't do anything but sit in their special chairs or walkers you could see them try to move or cry for happiness. They don't think of it as a curse of because of sin. If you ever get a chance to notice some one in this state of mind or physical handicap and they were born that way. They don't miss what they don't have because they don't know any other way. They will usually tell you they know they are God's special people sort of like angels sent in human deformaties. They can be such a blessing to us. They don't accept people's outlook of them.Example kids make fun of kids for what ever reason and it can be very unkind. These children that I met and sponsored in races and other events they just have the attitude they are really the better people. More power to them. They truly love God.

I get that we live in the flesh and flesh sins and flesh also dies from whatever and that if this was a perfect world void of sin there would be no death or disease. I have not read of a spirit of retardation.

Wow! Whats up with all the hate against Christians today? It makes me laugh!!
This is the most i've heard hate against us. But if you think we are "Retarded", then that is fine with me, i don't care about what others think of me, and i don't think the other christians on here should either, they're probably used to all the B.S getting thrown in there face!
You need sum1 to pray for you! And i'll be glad to do so!
Sincerly, Jeff!

Predestination.
God declares some people are born:
Mute
Deaf
Blind
Retarded
Killers
Homosexuals
Savants
Geniuses
God made Albert Einstein, and Al gave God credit in print.
God made Saddam.
God made Osama.
God made Bush I and II
God made Charlie Manson
THEY ALL may have "get out of jail free" cards because GOD made them this way.
Some religions say this is true.
They say not everyone has FREE WILL
God has a plan for you.
Maybe mass murder is his plan. Maybe it isn't.
Don't be shocked to find Hitler, Manson and gay people in Heaven.
If GOD declares they are what they are, then GOD must take care of their SOULS for they have NO SAY in what they do!
