The thing is that the library says there's 1.2 GB of music but when I connect the iPod it says I've used almost 3. It's a 4 GB ipod nano and I was wondering what I could do to free up that space because it makes no sense.

The reason for that is the setup of your iPod and the stuff that makes it work takes up to 3GB . i dont know if you like your ipod organized like me but to save some space you can always erase all the names of the albums and artists and just right the artist and the name of the song in the space for song it dose save memory but it causes for an unorginzed iPod.

the thing with ipods is that they dont have the EXACT # of gigs that they advertise(for example, 4). i have a 30GB video and in actuality it has around 27..as for clearing up space, there's really no other option but to erase songs
