Sorry, one thing just jumped out at me. The scripture reads "nor sodomites" not "nor homosexuals". The term sodomite has become largely synonymous with "homosexual" because of the story of, you guessed it, Sodom and Gomorrah. However, the homosexuality in that passage is questionable. It does not talk about anyone having homosexual relations - merely something like "send your guests out here so that we may 'know' them". If that does mean homosexual sex, then that is not necessarily what God was condemning them for. It was more likely the gang rape. God wouldn't care if it were male on male or male on female, rape was bad. He destroyed the cities not for homosexuality, but the base morals and corruption of the people in general. So when talking later about "sodomites", the Bible is more likely speaking of those of base morals and corruption and poor character, etc. not homosexuals.

It is condoned by some Christians mainly fanatical ones but why generalize. Every homosexual knows that some Christians feel this way and some don't. This person was very wrong for posting in that section. He could of express them under this section. God bless you for not wanting to start a battle.

Shalom

Once you know God you can separate whats real from what's not.
1John 4:8 clearly states that God is love.So we can conclude anything not of love is not of God.(Is that a fair assumption?)
Dealing strictly with the issue bought up in th question,my Bible states"Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulates, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, etc.
Now,before I came into the truth I was a fornicator.Once I came into the truth I stopped being a fornicator and became a child of God.
You will notice any of the offenses mentioned above can be stopped and the person can also become a child of God.
1Corinthian 6:11 continues "And yet this is what some of you were, but you have been washed clean, but you have been
sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God."
Now,from what I understand about sin, there are no levels of sin.
Fornication is no less of a sin than homosexuality(men lying with men)
I have been raised to believe Jehovah hates the sin but loves the sinner(John 3:16)
So the interruption of the Bible is important but knowledge of God's ways can help us to decipher when the Bible has been wrongly interrupted.

Being a Christian, I am very surprised at some of the answers AND questions asked by people who call themselves Christians on this site. I will not make a judgment against the person, but I have to say I try to be very careful about how I portray myself, especially here. I always stop and think about how my answer can be taken especially if others here are watching me on this site and know from my answers that I believe in Christ. I am honest and always speak the truth, but I still make sure it is appropriate. Aren't we all here for some fun and to pass some time?

Tough question. The Bible tells us that homosexuality is a sin, but I know that they've done studies that show that it is at least somewhat influenced by genetics. In fruit flies, if you switch a certain gene, you can make females chase females and males chase males.

But we were all born sinful, not just people who are homosexual. Therefore, we all deserve death, not just one group of sinners.

I can think of a couple things from the Bible saying not to judge others, "Judge not lest ye be judged", "He who is without sin cast the first stone", something about taking the log out of your own eye before you try to remove a splinter from your neighbors, ecetera.

Basically, Christians should speak to others of their faith and perhaps gently council, but they really shouldn't judge, because that is God's domain.

Their attitude did not clearly express the love God has for all His creations; however, the Bible is pretty clear that homosexual acts and the like is indeed a sin. There is no other way to interpret it because it is clear as day a.k.a. ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
-FYI: wars start not by what people say but by how they say it

-Phoenix might dispute the accounts in Sodom and Gomorah, but Paul clearly condemns homosexuality in the First Chapter in the book of Romans!

Yes. He's pointing out what the bible plainly says, and everybody seems to be blind to. All kinds of people, including jon stewart on the daily show, (which TONS of kids get their "facts") said it's NOT mentioned in the bible. . . .this Misinformation campaign by gays and gay sympathizers has to be countered with THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with saying the truth?? People sometimes don't see the error of their ways until somebody shows them. . . some people are mislead by the likes of jon stewart and because of that they unknowingly live a sinful life which they will have to answer for when they die.

So what's wrong with countering lies with the TRUTH?
Why aren't you criticizing people who say it's NOT in the bible?
Why don't you criticize the liars and deceivers out there? Why do you only criticize those who show the TRUTH?

Hey, apparently retardation is now blamed on sins in some of the more "enlightened" churches, so I guess homosexuality is a sin as well. I think its time to start burning churches again in the bible belt. Bigoted bunch of incestuous ******* need to be taught a few lessons about loving their neighbour, and accepting people for what they are, not what they 'should be'

Paul, Peter and John in the Bible, along with Moses and others SAY being sexually active in ANY form, hetero or homo, is wrong.

JESUS said LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR (You have no choice in who is your neighbor) like you love yourself. Love your enemy the most. He who is among you without sin, cast the first stone.

Jesus saved fornicators and whores. Jesus saves lepards.

Jesus said "everything is fixed and can't be changed."

The rest is up to you to decide.

Chose wisely, God is watching and listening. God knows what is in your heart, your mind and soul.

God will decide YOUR fate at the END OF TIMES with a citation in the BOOK OF LIFE.

You might be there. You might not.

How you LIVE your LIFE is up to you.

Free will, unless you have been PREDESTINTED to be otherwise!

God decides that, too!

i imagine maximum Christians use Christian habit as what they anticipate of each and every man or woman except themselves. seem at Mel Gibson, he were given more beneficial christians out to exhibit screen the interest of the Christ than the different action picture I genuinely have ever seen. so they flow watch the action picture & he thinks he can mis-take care of non-christians, the girls he became married to for years, the various babies he has & then the newborn momma. he's purely one social gathering. they are hypocrites & ought to stick with what they are asserting is Christian habit & go away each and every man or woman else on my own. i'm not a Christian yet I genuinely trust in having a Christ expertise. i trust what I supply out comes back to me. it truly is prevalent regulation. existence balances itself out. So what i'm is what i'm getting.
