Bill the Barbaric claims to have it ready in January 2007. What he'll do is release whatever mess he has and then send "patches" out the whazoo for the next three years.

There are different versions of "windows vista" Some are being used now, others will not come out until later, the home version is scheduled for 2007 [i think its the first of the year].
The Beta's are out now to authorized users only.

Since Microsoft has changed their set release date more times than I can count, it is really hard to give you a definite 100% date of release to the public. However, according to Microsoft's current release date, large businesses and select users would have access to it in November - December this year while most public users will be able to buy it by late January 2007.

jan next year there is a beta version you can download from the microsoft website and burn on to a cd but if you go to install it it has to have a clean install and your old windows system with all the settings on will be lost so if you are going to try the beta verson 2 of windows vista you wanna make a back up of your computer befor you do install the vista version you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com
for free and burn it on to a cd
remember microsoft
do not give any support for the windows vista beta version
