To love one another as he loved us.

The number one commandment was to love the Lord your God with all of your heart and soul and mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.

If you love God then you will want to obey his commands. Jesus said he who keeps his commands is the one who loves Him. So what's your beef? You seem to be upset with your posts. Is there some area of your life that you don't want to turn over to the will of God?

You exhort people to practice love, well I'm practicing love by telling you the truth. It isn't love to let someone continue on the path of destruction and tell them what a great person they are along the way. True love risks getting rebuffed and having someone not like you and say bad things about you because you care more about the person than about the consequences that might accrue to yourself.

"And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: 1 John 2:3-5

Today is the day of salvation. We are in the period of grace. God's is good and merciful and He gives His salvation freely to anyone who asks for it. He is love, but He is also just. There are wicked people in the world causing harm and evil on others. God will judge them. You may not fall into this category, but you have also in one way or the other transgressed against one of His laws. He loves you so much, He died to make a way for you. Love one another is the greatest commandment. If you love someone, you share the Good News with them. I can't, however, sugar coat the truth. We know tht judgment awaits those tht are evil and those who harden their hearts to God. You see, there is none righteous. The only one without blemish is Jesus Christ.

Only want the first one!? How bout the whole script?! Have a blessed day..=)

The following is the text of the commonly accepted (by Christian and Jewish authorities) commandments as found in the book of Exodus 20:1-17, New Revised Standard Version. Because Jewish, Protestant, Orthodox, and Catholic traditions divide the commandments in different fashions, they are presented below without itemization.

(1) Then God spoke all these words: (2) I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; (3) you shall have no other gods before me. (4) You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. (5) You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, (6) but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments. (7) You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name. (8) Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. (9) Six days you shall labor and do all your work. (10) But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. (11) For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it. (12) Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. (13) You shall not murder. (14) You shall not commit adultery. (15) You shall not steal. (16) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (17) You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

yup, it's love God with all your heart, then love your neighbor as yourself. actually, all the laws of the universe fall under this. it's definitely the way God does things. most people don't get the first part, though. they like to leave that out. and the order is definitley important. (you can pray for me anyday!)

Jesus said a lot of things and LOVE was a major part.

He ALSO said you must put GOD above your Mother, your Father, your Son and Your Daughter.

Now, interpret that one!

He also said

Sell all you own and buy a Sword.

Now interpret that one.

It's hard to understand how so many people who call themselves followers of Christ fail so miserably to live this simple truth.
