I was on paxil for 5 years and prozac for a few months to help me taper off the paxil. it has been almost two months and i'm feeling super anxious and dizzy all the time. will my body balance back out (i don't think i need it anymore...) or not? when will i know if i REALLY need to be on meds or not?

your body will eventually balance out. if you don't know you need the meds, see a doctor.

You cannot become physically dependent on either drug. I would consult a doctor about this issue. You should not need to taper off the prozac with paxil unless directed by a doctor. For now, stay on the prozac because that's what your used to. I think it would be better to take less prozac until you feel better on the lowest possible dose.
Once you've got yourself to that point, go see your doctor and get better informed on the duration of the after-effects once you stop taking the prozac for good.

it is odd to me that your doctor would just haloff and switch you. I had to get off paxil and go on Prozac, my doctor lowered my paxil dose over a period of time till i was on the lowest form then he put me of the lower form of Prozac till I am what I'm at now. The reason for this is Paxil has a addictiveness to it. I can make you feel like your "crashing".
