I work with this really cute guy. We have a lot of similar tastes in music, humor, etc. I haven't known him very long because at work we don't really have shifts with other people because it's a lightweight job. Everytime I've had to work with him with him we joke around and have fun and smile. This last time I worked, when his shift was over I said "you know you can go right" and he was taking his time because he had nothing better to do apparently. So I jokingly say that he should hang out with me, and he does for like an hr (I said this with no seriousness in my tone). I don't know why anyone would want to work more than they have to. I mean, would you want to stay longer at your job when you've already worked like 6 hrs instead of going home or out with friends? (He didn't really seem like he was going to leave until a friend called him way later). I can't tell if that means he likes me or if he was just being friendly? I'm so oblivious with this stuff.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Perhaps you should try asking him if he would like to join you for coffee one time outside of work. Then just see where it goes from there. Is not easy to tell if someone really likes you or is just being nice.

he might like you. Guys like girls who are fun to be with, smart and nice to talk to. I think he found these qualities in you. But don't make a big deal out of it. The effort still isn't enough to make the assumption. Wait for further moves coming from him. If he goes out of his way just to be with, I think it's now safe to conclude.

I think he was waiting for more encouragement from you. Like maybe you asking him to meet you for coffee or you could have said if you are going to stick around until I get off we can leave together. I think he wants to get to know you better

Probably wants to get to know you and see if he wants something from you. Maybe sex, may be a relationship or just a friendship. Time will tell, unless you ask him and if he answers honestly.
Help those who need help.
