I belonged to the Catholic religion at one time, I was never baptized, but I went to church and a catholic school. I don't bash Christians all the time, some of them I respect. I started doubting the existence of god when I was about the age of 7 or 8. I finalized my decision when I was 12.

I don't agree with them, but the reason that allot (not all) atheists bash Christianity is because of all the hatred, bigotry, and such that is done in the name of Christianity. I would say that just like atheists, not all Christians are guilty of this, but there are allot, and their actions make them more visible than the more low-key Christians that don't feel the need to make their good actions known.

Some are and some aren't.

They bash us because it's fun or they had bad experiences.

Hey, Science just declared Pluto is STILL a planet, although it's also now a PLUTON and a DWARF.

Science LOVES changing it's mind from day to day!

Relgion, at least, has stayed the same for 6,000 years!

If you have to believe in something, it's nice to believe in something that billions of people agree upon for the same 6,000 year, even with some small differences!

Science changes it's mind from decade to decade and makes High School graudates with no continuing eduction look STUPID to their kids!

And their kids are right! MA and PA live in TV LAND, not 2006!

Have a nice day!

That one goes both ways, I've seen plenty of Christians try to bash Atheist or whatever other religion. But have to say I'm not into the bashing part myself. So I apologize for some of them. But try to understand were they coming from.

Atheists on YA! aren't just bashing Christianity...it only feels that way because you are a Christian. Atheists have been equally bashing Islam, JW's and Mormons... at least what I have seen/read.

I was raised catholic and therefore christian but then realized i dont believe all the BS that christianity preaches.
I never questioned the existence of god, it was just a given that he did exist. One day i thought about this and realized that the only way to be sure of something is to question it. So i questioned whether god exists, and came to the conclusion that he doesnt. I try not to be mean to christians but i do try to explain my beliefs to them only to make them think. If after thinking about it logically the still believe thats great for them.
When we are raised we are taught our parents beliefs and are told not to question them. Many people believe in god because they have always been told he exists but after reasoning realized he is not real.
Yes some atheists were at one time christians but by no means all of them

Well, if you live in the Bible Belt, and you aren't Christian, you are constantly having people give their frickin judgmental comments and opinions on everything. There are a lot of hateful Christians out there. Most Christians really don't follow Christ's example.

Most American atheists were Christians at one time, yes. We've "been there, done that", and the Christians who bash atheists typically haven't. It'd behoove them to think a little before they attack atheism - most of them simply get it wrong.

Many of them did. Maybe they just want to try to make other Christians feel how the religion made them feel.

It is a two way street, here. Don't turn a blind eye to the intolerance of the Christians. That would be counterproductive.

Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, et al aren't trying to push their theology thinly disguised as "Intelligent Design" on to the public school system.

Plus I've got a bunch of lion jokes I've been saving up. Lion jokes are no fun with Buddhists.
