It could be a sting, but " small" is relative. Is it the size of a pea? marble? golf ball?

I would say have the vet check it. Usually sting/bite sites are hard and itchy. Soft sounds more like a little cyst. When you felt it, did you check for a stinger?

Still itchy after a week doesn't sound like a regular bite, but if he was allergic to wasps he'd have more of a reaction than one localized area, so I wouldn't be frantic.

Also, ask for something to rub or spray on it to take the itch away, so he doesn't scratch at it and make it into something worse.

Best wishes

No, it doesn't sound like a wasp sting. You should always have your vet check out lumps asap. Some are fine, others can be deadly. The sooner you find out, the better.

It could be, but after a week it should have gone done. If you can move the lump around away from the muscle it doesn't sound cancerous. It could be an abscess and will need to be opened and drained by your vet. I can't explain the itching though. Get the vet's opinion as soon as you can.

No - a wasp sting would hurt - not itch. It would also be hard, not soft. And he's had it too long. Take him to the VETS!!

is it red? don't know much about wasps but it could be a tick bite. gotta be careful of Lyme disease, and others, that ticks spread. (fyi - ticks can be as small as the period at the end of this sentence.) is your dog behaving differently?

Maybe it a small tumor. My dog has some tumors, as they get older that happens i was told. since the bumps move around, I was told it's nothing to worry about, just a fatty tumor. I thought it itched but I was wrong. the scary bumps are the ones that don't move, those are cancer.

Take your dog to the vet! The sting wouldn't itch, it would hurt. It could be a cyst, a tumor or even cancerous.

Usually soft lumps are not cancerous. It is always best to have them checked tho just in case it is a cancer. I have had 2 lumps checked on my dogs by our vet and both were benign.

Yes, it could be he is allergic to wasp stings. Unfortunately, it might also be a symptom of cancer. Please take him to the vet to see about it. Take care!

If it grew over night don't worry. call your vet it's probably a sting. if it appeared small at first and still growing, it broke the skin and/or looks uneven and bumpy. RUN TO YOUR VET!!!!! it could be cancer.
