His eyes, ears, and nose are a itchy mess and he looks hideous. However he is acting completely normal and happy, except for the itching. He has an appt with the vet tommorrow, but I'd feel better if someone gave me an idea what it could possibly be.

It could be a flea allergy, a reaction to any chemicals applied to your lawn, demodex mange or sarcopties mange, or even a food allergy. It sounds like sarcopites mange, which is scabies in humans. It is very contagious to humans and other pets, but I'm not a vet so after the vet takes a scraping from an infected area and looks under the microscope you'll know for sure.

It's nice to hear of a responsible pet owner taking their pet to a vet.

no other place is rashy? sounds like he got into something. check around the places hes been to see if that's a possibility, that info will help the vets too. He may have gotten into some chemicals that are burning his skin. I'd say that before the allergic reaction only because an allergic reaction, I think, would affect the rest of his body too.

more than likely he is just having allergies. I have ablack lab that is 8 years old and it seems every summer he has a bad case of allergies, he starts losing hair around his face, ears, muzzle, legs, etc. I usually start with an oatmeal bath that is kept on the body for about 5 to 10 mins to sooth. and then i will buy the benadryll cream, and pills only give him one to control the itch. when the weather cools off usually so does he.

He's probably gotten into something he's allergic to. I'm sure he'll be okay as long as he is breathing ok. The vet will be able to prescribe something for the itchiness. Good luck!

Allergies? Summertime can be hard. My thought though? MITES. Ask your vet to do skin analysis. Ivermectin works wonders for Demodex and Mange.
