new JVC D395U digital video camera trouble?

Question

I have tried connecting it to my computer via the provided USB cable that came with it, but it doesnt show up. how can i upload and edit my videos from my camera through the USB cable, and why wont it show up?

Hello.
I have the same camera, and had the same problem until I read the manual carfully.
The ****** who sold it to me at best buy didn't explain to me that i needed a dv cable, and a computer that had that feature.
Check on page 44. Using DV cable.
If I would've known that, I would've got another samsung, that I only needed the usb cable to use it as a web-cam.
