Yorkies have very small bones and tend to get under foot. With that being said I don't think a yorkie is a good pet for smaller children. Since they are terriers they tend to be a little more excitable and higher energy dogs. With four kids running around something is bound to happen, unless the yorkie grew up with the kids and has the sense to lay low.

yorkies if properly socialized can be good with kids - however if they are raised like spoilt children they will be nippy with kids and nervous.. if the "baby brother" is scared of the dog that is too bad.. kids should be scared of dogs to some extent... I mean really...
NO dog is 100 % safe around kids, terriers are more risky than soft mouthed dogs (retrievers) BUT that doesnt make it a bad pet.. having 4 kids is too many kids in the first place...

Generally speaking, very small dogs are not great with very young kids. A lot of them are nervous around kids who are maybe too loud for them. But all dogs are individuals - so it would depend on the dog. You'd have to find out why your cousin's brother is scared of this dog.

Four kids, or For kids...either way, a yorkie is probably not the best dog for kids...they have tiny bones that can be broken by a small child...if the children are older (8 or so), then they will not be as ruff on the dog...for younger kids, I'd recommend a more sturdy breed...Mini Schnauzer, Boston, Jack Russell or a Pug.

Could be a good pet, a relative of mine has one, and she's so cute!
She's hyper though, and she needs alot of attention, could be good for children too. Cause the baby boy is scared of the dog, doesn't mean it's a bad pet, he could just not like that dog in general.

I had a yorkshire and 2 kids, my daughter was afraid of it also..hmmm weird. But, my dog was kind, it just wanted to play alot, and I guess it jumping up and down scared her.
oh..yorkshires also demand alot of attention, so I'm not sure if it's the best combination, but I don't see why not..

No no no. Get a bigger dog that the kids can play with. Yorkies are not a good kid's dog.
