Consider this a "thought" experiment. Just think about what would happen if it was revealed that there really was no God. I don't know how but for this experiment, let's say we find out. And so everything you believed was based on old beliefs and ancient stories. Would you be willing to change your beliefs now that you know the truth?

So let us also say that if this was the scenerio, then there was probably no afterlife. That you have one life and that's it. (Now remember, this is just a thought experiment.) Would that be a scary thought? Or would that give your life more meaning? That you only had one shot and life.

Hmmm. That is a really good question. I guess to give up what I truly believe would mean showing me absolute, concrete proof. Even then I would probably think there was some sort of mistake and look for ways to prove the proof wrong. It would have to be something so profound, I can't even think "big" enough to imagine what it could be.

I will not give up my beliefs no matter what. You need something to believe in. I would rather believe in an old story that could be true than the unknown.

If it was absolutely proven, with no doubt whatsoever that God does not exist, maybe. But the thing is, it hasn't been proven that God doesn't exist. In fact, certain historical evidence, and scientific evidence, points to a God.

yes if it were(though it could never be)I would have to admit it then kill myself, because without Jehovah there is no hope for the future, look at this mess man has made tryin to govern himself. the only thing worth while in this world is JEHOVAH'S promises of a wonderful future, when all mankind will know him.

It would take God himself opening up the clouds and telling me that he wasn't real for me to give up my beliefs. So what would it take? It would never happen.

If it's the indisputable truth, then yes I would quit believing.

I'd then proceed to steal an ice cream truck and maybe some soda.

If something were absolutely proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I would change my beliefs.

Probably not. My Grandma knows that her superstitions are false, but just in case she holds onto them. I'd probably be the same way

no, because I've lived long enough to know in my heart and mind and seen too much proof that any so called proof otherwise would not could not be true.
