I should be the last person to answer this, because I am also a worry wort! I suggest you find other things to occupy your time - like: exercise, hobbies, answering Yahoo questions, volunteering, sports, etc.

I am not a mental health professional, but like many others who have answered the problem is likely caused by an anxiety order.
The type of anxiety order would have to be diagnosed by a mental health professional.
I am a worrier myself, and have been diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I have been obsessed and worried with a specific illness (that I don't even have) since I was in the 4th grade and I am now 27.
My worrying is no longer constant, but my thoughts on the illness are always there (if that makes any sense).
A person on the board advised you to go on Paxil, but once again I say talk to a psychiatrist or family doctor before even considering going that route. I myself am on Paxil, and although it has helped me it is nearly impossible to get off it. I will probably be on Paxil for life as the withdrawal process is really hard on my system.
So my advise to you is...
1) try to calm down
2) go visit your family doctor or a psychiatrist
3) if needed consider various forms of therapy
4) eat well, sleep well and exercise

I know exactly what you are feeling. I'm the same way. We just have to assume the best, but ready ourselves for the worst. We shouldn't live our lives in fear, pal. We are young. I'm sure everything is going to be okay. Just remember the saying: this, too, shall pass. Good luck!!!

I was always as worrier as my Mother was... but when it became almost too much -- more than normal for me, I knew something was wrong. I think as others have said, anxiety could be a major factor. Its easy to say 'brush it off' or 'get over it' ..but if its a disorder that isn't something you can control (chemical imbalance), medication can help. Not saying you need that! If it begins to affect your daily well-being, seek a Dr's opinion absolutely.

Sounds like you have an anxiety disorder of some sort. Have you been to a doctor? Make sure you get the medication that gives you the fewest side effects.

I agree........definitely sounds like an anxiety disorder. It's surprisingly common in teens and young adults. I'd have a talk with a parent, counselor, teacher, friend or family member and see about getting some help.
