I use a rag for most of my body and a brush for my back. I just think it takes to long. When I have stayed at hotels I have used only a bar of soap and have had no complaints or strange looks so I wonder if I am wasting my time washing so thoroughly at home.

A washcloth helps to remove dirt & dead skin. It's also very useful in reaching all the cracks & crevices...which helps to remove stinky odors.

A better idea than using a bar of soap (especially if its used by more people than you) would be to use liquid soap. And as for a "rag", those harbor so many germs, I wouldn't think that would be very sanitary either. Paper towels are the best for being sanitary. You didn't mention the reason behind the question, hard to determine beyond that. Can't assume a thing.

Course you need a washcloth and soap and the hot water. Because you aren't really getting any dirt and body oder off of your skin. The wascloth helps remove dead skin cells. Your just rubbing over them with your hands and the soap without one.

i heard something somewhere that washing with a bar of soap just applies the scent of the soap but doesnt do anything. washing with a wash cloth lifts the "dead skin" off the body so the water can wash it away. i use sponges.

Go with a rag...I used to just use soap and you can tell there's a difference.

The abrasive action of the wash cloth scrubs dead skin away that just washing with soap doesn't.

I think a rag is good for getting the dead skin off.

You need help. Do you not know how to bath yourself? Try a pressure washer.
