I have an 8 week old golden retriever who enjoys humping the couch. Is this normal for a 2 month old male? I can't have him neutered yet; he's too young.

Some males are very hormonal, even at that young age. It is normal but if you don't like the behaviour, try to find things to distract him from doing it.
Neutering will definately help (once he is old enough of course).

Well that is very young for him just correct him and by the age of 5-12 months he will not do it. Many dogs just go through hormonal spurts, if they get close to a female he might mount let him do so then correct him. Watch his signs such as putting his head over the back and bring his back legs as though he is going poop. Give him a stuffed dog and watch him farther away

Yes this is normal....but don't try to read too much into it. It may not even be sexual in nature.
I have had dogs who humped stuffed toys, furniture, other dogs etc. even after getting fixed.
OH this reminds me of a joke HEHE

This is common to see with young males, this usually isn't a sexual, but a dominance thing. Dogs see the family and him as a pack. In the pack there are ranks and he is trying to find his rank, he's claming leadership of the pack.

Get a rolled up news paper. When he starts to do it, smack the paper against your hand Close to him, and tell him "NO" in a very loud voice. Some people use a pop can with few pennies in it by shaking it and doing the same thing.

it's normal for male dogs to hump things, whether they've been neutered or not they sometimes do this. just let it go, he'll stop when he's done.

This has to do with him showing dominance. Its not sexual.
