Seriously. And I'm not asking how to find faith again. I've spent most of my life as a Christian and find that I really don't have any faith left because of things that have happened to me. I'm not looking for another religion. I want to know how people live if they don't believe in anything. What do you do with your time?

I lean towards facts, not faith. I've lived 20 years without belief in god(s), I have a great family and own my own business. I don't belong to an "atheist church" or anything since none exist.

Since your not looking for religion, you should read about atheism. It's not a religion as many would have you believe. It just means not a theist, or without belief in things that there is no evidence of. You may want to read about humanism which is a philosophy of life, or agnosticism, which means you don't know whether there is a god or not.

We Are Atheists Because...

* There is no proof of the existence of god.
* There is no need of, or use for, a god.
* A good god would be useless if it were not powerful.
* A powerful god would not deserve worship if he were not good.
* There is no all-powerful good god; otherwise there would be no imperfection.
* If this is the best world god can make, the stories of Heaven must be lies.
* History shows that godism is accompanied by ignorance and superstition.
* There has never been such intolerance and persecution as godists have practiced.
* Godism had to be fought when humankind made its successive steps toward science, liberty, and reform.
* Godism was invented in the earliest days of mankind's ignorance. It is incredible that primitive humans guessed wrongly about everything else, but discovered the truth about the origin of life. Everything about which science has discovered the origin was claimed previously to have been the work of a god. Godism recedes when a new fact is discovered. No new discovery ever supports a theistic explanation of anything.
* All revelation proves, on investigation, to be human, and generally fraudulent.
* Godism is consistent with crime, cruelty, envy, hatred, malice, and uncharitableness.

Atheism Teaches That...

* There is no heavenly father.
Humankind must protect the orphans and foundlings, or they will not be protected.

* There is no god to answer prayer.
Man must hear and help man.

* There is no hell.
We have no vindictive god or devil to fear or imitate.

* There is no atonement or salvation by faith.
We must face the consequences of our acts.

* There is no beneficent or malevolent intent in nature.
Life is a struggle against preventable and unpreventable evils. The cooperation of humankind is the only hope of the world.

* There is no chance after death to "do our bit."
We must do it now or never.

* There is no divine guardian of truth, goodness, beauty, and liberty.
These are attributes of humankind. We must defend them or they will perish from the earth.

Don't quote me on this one, but the way I look at it: The people who have their faith are more happy with theirselves and their lives, where as the ones who don't have faith or totally against religion seem to be the ones who don't have a job or family , who live on the streets and are the drug and alcohol users.. This is because these are the evils, the devil, in us that comes out when we lose faith in Him..I have been where I almost was to let go of Him, but He had other plans for me and showed me the right path before it was to late!!! I never have doubted Him since and never will. He has been with me all along and He is with all of us, but we have to decide what path to take in life.. Do we follow His will ??? , or do we surrender to the depths of evil..I know what I want in life and the devil is not going to be my lord.. I hope this helps you and may you find the right path, God bless..

I'm sorry, I am going to talk about what you asked me not to, but I think I have a point. Maybe you were too focused on what God could do for you than on what you could do for God.

I am sorry if you have had bad things happen to you. I really am. But, if everything has a purpose, those things may have too. Maybe, since you know how hurtful those things were for you, you could devote your life to helping other people deal with them, or possibly prevent them. Even if you feel that you are far away from God now, it might be what brings you closer.

You may not know the reasons for the things that have happened to you, but you might be hitting rock bottom for a reason. It just might be a different reason than you think. Instead of turning from God, you can now re-evaluate your life to see what you could do better.

Remember that life is like a test, and evil is pushing at you from every side, every day to try to make you fail. Don't let it win.

Live 1 day at a time. Enjoy things for what they are. Find enjoyment is all I'm saying. No religion just find something pleasurable. And don't lose faith in the 1 thing that really matters....Yourself.

By hearing the Word of God, you build faith.

Bad things happen to good people and bad people, just as good things happen to good and bad people.

Just because you are a Christian does not mean that you are exempt from bad things happening to you. Being a Christian though and walking in God's ways and reading His Word will give you strength to overcome in trials of life.

I have had many difficulties through life, but I determine for those things to make me stronger, by proving God in seeing me through these difficulties, which makes me stronger.

We have a choice - to get bitter or better.

Please may I encourage you to choose better!
Don't turn your back on God, for there is no one like Him!

Your welcome to contact me for further help if you wish
God Bless You.

What are the things that have caused you to lose your faith? Is it people? or what people have done? You may need to question if your faith was in the right place to begin with.
Faith can be regained by looking for the ways God is still showing himself to you. Trust is something that is built over time by getting to know the one you're learning to trust.

I believe that there's a higher power than us mere mortals. Sometimes we all come to a point in our lives in where we get so discouraged that it seems that all is lost and we can never find our way back. This is where that inner voice from above comes in and says, "It's goin' to be okay. I'm here." You have to reach down deep inside yourself and bring out that fighting spirit and keep on pushing. I don't mean to sound preachy, but when you're at your weakest, that's when you're at your strongest. You don't have to look for another religion, baby. Look within yourself and above. Be well, dear.

You may be experiencing what the mystic St John of the Cross called 'the dark night of the soul.'

It isn't a test so much as a lesson. You need to pray your way through it. It is a matter of learning to completely trust God for everything. It is only when you completely surrender your will to His that you can understand His love for you.

I compare it to childbirth. I didn't want any drugs, and my husband knew this. When I was in labor, I completely surrendered to him. whatever he told me to do, I did. I listened to no one else, I HEARD no one else. Nurses would ask me a question, and I could not hear it- HE had to ask. By placing my focus completely on my husband, knowing his only desire was for my welfare, in essence I turned my life completely over to him. If he had told me to slit my wrists, I probably would have.

I realised that is what I need to do with God- put Him completely in control, obey His words to me and know He wants only the best for me.

That is what you ned to do with your time.

You will more than likely spend you time wondering what if you still had your faith. Pray that God will give you the strength to have more faith.

It's all about being tested.....not "if" your going to be tested, but "when".....

God is allowing you to be tested because He knows you can come out on top, you just need to believe in yourself and Him.

Being a Christian is not a religion, by the way, maybe you need to study up....we all know religions were started by men and being a Christian is simply being Christ like!

You'll be ok
