YES, you do need help. I used to burn, and I did it to feel alive, it was as if seeing the blood assured me that I was alive. This is a very serious issue. You need to get in touch with someone tonight. Call 911 and tell them you need a mental health professional. Tell them the truth, and you will start on the road to recovery. Once you start to get counseling and treatment you will realize why you do this, then you can start to look at what happened in your life to make you do this...and deal with it in a way that is healthy for you...you will be in my thoughts, please, please, get help tonight.

see a doctor and get to a counselor now cutting and not wanting attention is a wrong thing as a counselor in a drug abuse program i saw folks time O-D's to match when the doors opened so they could be dramatic every week at 5;pm or cut their wrists across at 4:55pm and turn up on the doors and we would deal with them and get them to a hospital for 72 hour observation talk to folks and find a friend to help get you to the local free clinic thats family counseling and then after you start talking out the feelings with someone then tell the folks to go with and to help you understand why ,if its not making you feel better ,then stop and get to some help use a false name if you are concerned they will tell

Oh sweetie--can't help you on line, wish I could. But you have it nailed--you do need counseling. But you do see a problem, which is a step in the right direction.
