It probably means that you are kind, compassionate, caring. It doesn't necessarily mean he wants to get back together. Even if he does, it doesn't mean you should get back together. Just take it as a compliment and don't try to read anything more into it.

It doesn't seem you were in love with him when he was still your boyfriend. Why is it so important to tell him NOW that you (think) you're in love with him. You talk about him as though he is more your crush than an ex. Wasn't love a prerequisite for you to be boyfriend/girlfriend? You shouldn't need to tell him how you feel. BTW, who broke off the relationship?

oh that is so sweet... a "loving" person is someone who shows they care. A loving person makes you feel loved and supported by being and showing affection in a million different ways. To be called "loving" is a wonderful thing! :) You must truly rock, because it sounds like he still cares.
