Would you read a book if God was a character, but would be made fun of (mildly!)? I just wanted to know because I would as long as it had a good meaning or reason behind it, and because I'm writing it.

I wouldn't read such a book with god as a character, unless he was made fun of savagely and brutally. >:-)

Seriously though, too many people take their religious beliefs waaaaay too seriously. It's silly to get upset over an obvious work of fiction. Besides which, I would say that we should all have our most cherished beliefs ridiculed once in a while, if only to keep us on our toes.

But just try to make it good ridicule. Make it witty and make the reader ponder or even reconsider their own beliefs. DON'T make it childish or mean or an ad hominem, that will just turn people away.

As I read and enjoyed Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, it sounds like a good idea for a book. Gods have to be poked a little of fun of or they take themselves far too seriously.

Sure, I'll read it. I haven't gotten any new books in a while anyway. What do you plan on calling it?
