Much of the advice you've been given here so far is good. I will attempt to give my two cents also. I cannot emphasize this enough so I will type it in bold letters.
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO GET AT LEAST A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
You should even try to go to college, but you MUST at least get a High School Diploma if you are going to amount to anything in life. My young friend, if you drop out of school, you will regret it for the rest of your life. And the rest of your life will be a lot longer than the next 5 years!!

Well, with this attitude and language from an 8th grader, you better start practicing sponging off of your parents, and pushing a broom, maybe practice cleaning toilets or painting houses, cuz if you have this attitude now, you are doomed to a life of last rate jobs. Not only do you have to complete 5 more grades of secondary school, you need 4 years of college after that. So stop being a lazy jerk and apply yourself, or give your free education to a kid that isn't lucky enough to get one.

OK, that was the harsh part. The good news is you definately have potential based on your grades. Just suck up the fact that school is important, and dig in!! I'm sure you will go places...every kid needs to find his/her interests, and that usually ignites a flame of passion towards school.

Read your books, read the newspaper, put a smile on your face for every math problem.

I was serious about your attitude, that is the first thing you need to bring back in check. Swearing and cussing may seem cool, but it is not professional, and brings you down further. If your friends cuss like sailors, I suggest spending less time with them, and find new friends that enjoy school, and display a positive attitude.

Hang in there, you can do it!

Sorry for the first part...but I'm not deleting it, because I really think you need to let that sink in a little. School is important, and you are sounding like a jerk. Smarten up...you will be fine!

Honey, most people really don't like school, but most of them are not fortunate enough to pull off good grades at the same time. Think of it this way, the better education you have the better life you will have, why struggle in life if you don't have to. You like to buy nice things don't you.
Also think of the future, you wouldn't want to marry some deadbeat loser would you, I mean you really don't think an educated person with a future wants to be with someone that doesn't add something to their life right. You can't these days think that when your older you'll get married and be taken care of, I'm sure that isn't what most guys look for, I hated school but stuck with it, now I own my own Business, have a pretty nice car and own my own house. I make my own hours and follow my own rules so I,m pretty happy I stuck with it even if it did suck. Point is I wouldn't be where I am today without it. Bite the bullet and good luck

I don't know anybody that likes school, I didn't know anyone when I was a kid that liked school. I dropped out of school, I am now a single mother with 2 children, I work full time at a resteraunt for minimum wage, because now, if you don't work you have to go to theese stupid meetings for public aide every week, or else they won't give you any assistance. And it is your responsability to find your own way there and your own way back and to find a babysitter for those meetings. Heres the problem with that, if all you are getting is public aide then you cannot afford transportation to theese meetings and you cannot afford a babysitter to go to theese meetings, so they cut you off of public aide, then you have no way to buy food for your kids. So, can you see where this is leading? Your pretty intellegant if you were able to make all A's and B's. So, anyhow, I am stuck in a minimum wage job, which I work like a slave at to keep, I pay my bills and pay for my son's diapers, and pay for my transportation back and forth to work, and at the end of the week, I'm lucky if I have enough money to buy my daughter a toy from the dollar store. So, you have a few choices to make, 1 stay in school and at least pass your classes, you don't have to make A's and B's to get your diploma, then go to college for like 1 year and get a degree in something and make halfway decent money. 2. Just say **** it, drop out of school, and become a drug dealer or a prostitute and end up in prison, or 3. Drop out of school and struggle for the rest of your life like I do, you make the call.

As a teacher, I'm very sorry to hear this. I try very hard to make school fun and interesting for my students. But as a person, I understand what you are saying. I hated school growing up...WITH A PASSION. And I had boring ineffective teachers. It's what made me decide to be a teacher...I wanted to be different. Anyway, about your question...

There really isn't a whole lot you can do about it, to be honest. You have to go to school, you have to do your homework, you have to sit in classes, etc. School is important. But I do offer you this hope. Time flies. Each year you complete will seem to go faster than the year before. Just sit tight and keep getting those good grades, and just finish. Once you're done with school, you can go and do anything you like, but do finish first.

School is vitally important for us to get anywhere in life. I don't know of anyone who can honestly say they love school. Deal with it (or suck it up as everyone elso is saying). You're in Grade 8 and you've got a long way to go. Your A's and B's are a good start but they'll mean nothing without the effort you'll need to put in the higher grades. Set yourself a series of small goals and work towards achieving them. The goals you set now may help set a much larger and more important goal for the future - your JOB. Take each day as it comes, do the work and homework (assignments) and you will get there in time.

Use your brains - you sound bright enough - and do what you know you've got to do.

Good Luck.

You Rebel You! ;-> You need to get out and have some fun and blow off a little steam. It's normal to feel that way. Since you get good grades, ask your parents for a little more freedom; maybe extend your curfew or let you go do something they wouldn't normally let you. Tell them how you feel. It sounds like you just really need to let go a bit and have some fun. Once it's out of your system, you can get back on target with education. Never let your grades suffer; you'd only be cheating yourself.

Hope you get to have a blast to get your mind off of school (has it even started yet???) Poor thing! I'll try to remember how you put it when my teenage daughter feels the same... and I'll try to remember my answer too!!! :)

Some people like school and some people dont. Remember that attending school is an investment of ur time for the future. The more education you receive the better standard of living you will have. Try to look at it as a job, or find ways to like school, find different ways of studying, ask more questions in class, try to make class interesting, make it work ur way..

Suck it up. Believe me, you'll like education much better than working an awful job for minimun wage the rest of your life.

I would like to tell you things get better in high school, but that just isn't the case. However things get a lot better when you get to college. So if you can just make it to college, you will be very glad you did.

This is simlpe. Do your work and then talk with friends. Try to relate it to real life. Like in health class when they talk about STD"s think of someone who you think may have them. Relate mAth questions to the trip to the grocery store. If these tips dont work, think it is salmost over. you only have four more yrs and they will go fast if you get a part time job.
