How can a nation admit that the killing of an unborn child is murder, and yet condone abortion?

(For those unaware, "Double Murder" refers to the killing of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.)

I've often wondered the same thing! It doesn't make any sense if people would get real and think about it. Most people don't think for themselves and they go along with what they hear on the media or from others around them. I get very frustrated just thinking about it. I believe that an unborn child has a soul from the beginning. It just doesn't make sense that a child's soul would just pop into it's body the minute it is born. And yes, I've heard that argument from many pro-choice pushers. And I don't believe that a child's body receives it's soul when their body's heart starts beating either. Still... it doesn't make sense to me. When a child is conceived even though it's appearance is not what we think of as a child ... it is still a child. Many make the argument that it can't survive on its own outside of the womb so it's ok to kill it. Do they not realize that it can't survive outside the womb after birth if someone isn't there to feed it? I'm sorry, I hope this makes some sort of sense. I get frustrated with this topic. Ignorance drives me crazy!!! Our nation has some soul searching to do. Thanks for bringing this topic up. I hope others stop, think and learn from it. God bless you!

When someone kills a women who is pregnant it is taking away the choice basically. If the woman was going to keep the baby then there is obviously a difference. And come on, how many of those stories do you really hear about anyways where a pregnant woman is murdered. In alot of states if the murderer had no idea she was pregnant than it doesn't usually count. And if she is big enough to tell, then she was obviously past the abortion stage.

Abortion is a choice and it is done before the embryo would be even close to being able to survive, and usually before its even started developing anything other then body mass. Even if the choice was taken away women will still seek out many dangerous ways of doing it whether its illegal or not. Abolishing abortion will not sway our beliefs or how many people are having unprotected sex. We will simply have a horrible rise in illegal abortion deaths and orphans due to the mother giving it up for adoption. There are not enough homes for orphaned children as it is.

Not another abortion question...
Get a life.

Get your facts straight, also.
Did you know that they only consider it double murder if the fetus was 24 weeks or older?

Also, there is a BIG difference between aborting the child because it's your decision and your choice, and having a forced abortion...Just like somebody murdering you and your fetus as "B H" mentioned above.

George Orwell would call this "doublethink." It's an example of people wanting things both ways.

I guess some people have the ridiculous notion that an unborn baby is human if wanted, and a blob of cells if unwanted.

Good question, though.

It is assumed that prior to abortion, a woman prays to her God for permission to abort. Or she makes a reasonable decision in the best interest of society. Then she aborts. That is PROBABLY the process God himself takes to determine which fetuses he will abort in miscarriage. Therefore it is not murder. However, when a pro life bomber bombs a clinic killing a mother and fetus---- it is not done with God's permission and is murder.

thats a good question. you should ask those "pro-choicers" who claim that an unborn baby isn't a living thing.

The baby’s heartbeat begins between the eighteenth and twenty-fifth day after conception. To me, that's a real life.

One is a mother's choice to abort a parasitic organism which cannot survive on its own - regardless of beating muscle tissue that is not yet a heart.

The other is done against a human's will.

Big difference legally and socially.
