I recently went for a yearly physical but my one of my liver tests came back a little high. THe doctor stated that it could be something simple as taking medication or pain releavers recently or something more advanced such as hepatitis or more. I'm wondering, I took a 2 Tylenol on Sunday afternoon and I had my physical Tuesday morning. Would the elements of the tylenol still be in my system and would this effect my results?? Any advice or info is much appreciated.

Tylenol can be damaging to your liver if you take over 4 g daily. You also could have had 3 beers the day before and it could have messed with it. Your liver acts as a filter for your blood, anything could make it work a little more. If your doctor isn't worried about it I would not drive myself crazy over it.
My med book gives a peak of 1.3 hours and a duration of 3-4 hours. Most doctors prescribe Tyl to be given 4-6 hours apart'not to exeed4000mg = 8 Extra strenghtTyl a day. Hope this helps.

ok to start Tylenol and Advil are 2 completely two different medicines. one is ibuprofen the other is acetaminophen. unless you take a lot of these every day they would not be the cause of your liver problems. also ibuprofen would be out in 6 hours and Tylenol in 4.

there are a lot of long term studies on these because they are used by people with arthritus daily. daily low dosage aspirin has also been used to reduce the chance of heart attack. At high dosage, there is considerable risk, that is why medicine companies are always working on improved formulas for arthritus.

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not a doctor. It COULD have been something in what you ate for Breakfast...
