The answer isn't simple, since the statement "not in HD" can mean two things. If you mean analog TV signals from an antenna or analog cable, the chances are the picture will look worse, as the HDTV will reveal all the noise and defects in the picture. However, if you mean digital TV that is not HD (such as from DVDs, satellite, digital cable, or non-HD digital programs, they will look better on a HDTV than on a regular TV.

NOPE! Sometimes it looks worse (depending on the HDTV it's being viewed on).
