Hello. I really don't think you should wear a short skirt, they don't look very nice on anyone who is overweight. Knee length is also a huge mistake if you are overweight as they make you look chubbier. If I were you I would choose a pair of loose silky trousers with a matching tunic style top which you could sazz up with some chunky jewellery. However you say that you prefer to wear a dress, if this is so get a long, fitted dress in a dark, plain fabric, brighten it up with some chunky jewellery and a nice hat. Smile and have lots of fun. :-)

I am definately overweight so I know it can be harder to find the right thing to wear. You want to look good obviously but you also want to be comfortable- don't forget that! I don't know if you have an Estelle's where you are, Im from LI and got a few nice dresses for weddings there. Also, you could try David's Bridal and go with a less formal cocktail length dress that they absolutely carry in plus sizes. Good luck!

Whenever I have to get dressed up to go to a wedding I usually wear pants, only because I am not comfortable in a dress. If you like them, I would wear one. How about a skirt that comes to about knee length and a nice blouse. Fashion Bug is usually where I find my clothing, Lane Bryant in the mall is good too. Take a friend along with you or your Mom. They can help you out. Good luck

I would say go for a dress, maybe about knee length that doesnt show too much cleavage. Stick with colorful things, avoid black and definately avoid white. Since you are young, people wont be judging what you wear but it's still a good idea to try to look nice.
Good luck and have fun!

Go to Lane Bryant, the girls working there should be able to help you. They have a good selection of nice plus size clothing and I know they have stores in North Jersey. They have some gorgeous skirts in stock right now.

I think a dress is more appropriate. You want to look nice but be comfortable and feel comfortable in what you're wearing. Do they have any "Avenue" stores near you? They have some nice plus-sixed clothing and it's not all "old-lady-ish".

Wear something nice that you're comfortable in. If you don't have anything already that you like, check out the plus size section at whatever local store you usually shop at.

So wear a nice dress; something that will make YOU feel pretty and comfortable. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. If you carry yourself like a queen, everyone will think you are a queen!!! YOU GO GIRL !

I think that you should wear a skirt that comes at least to your knees with a nice blouse that flatters your figure. And top that off with some nice shoes and accessories. Don't forget to polish your toe nails. And don't forget lip gloss.

Wear a pretty dress, no stockings, and a cute pair of strappy shoes. Have your nails and a pedicure done if you can afford it. The most important thing is have fun, smile and have an attitude. My girls (I have 4) really loved going to weddings and dressing up.
