I can tell you they are not ear mites. Ear mites appear white and live in the ear canal. They are very difficult to see without magnification. They produce a dry black debris from feeding on the blood inside the ear canal, and are very itchy.
If they are stuck to one place on his ears and face, and aren't crawling around, they are not regular fleas, either. There is a type of flea called a "stick tight" flea. It is usually found on poultry, but will attach to dogs and cats. They are tiny, flat, and dark brown. They have to be scraped off and pulled off, even after being killed with flea drops or sprays. There can be hundreds all stuck near each other, and they love to be on the ears and feet.
Ask your vet to diagnose them and give you something to kill them.

Yuck. Probably fleas, only because ear mites are TOO SMALL to see that well! Flea dip the cat, flea collar the cat.
BOMB the house with some flea bombs, take you, the kids, canaries, cat, fish, out for a few hours when you bomb!!!
Consult your vet. for the best product, BUT, do not stay in the house, go to the Mall for the day!

Probably ear mites. Go to a Vet to get them cleaned out. They're probably driving your poor cat crazy.

They are ear mites. And they are also INSIDE and deep inside the ears. For the first treatment Kitty really needs to go to the vet; to get those ears checked out, flushed clean and medicated. Probably a shot of antibiotic, too, if it's as bad as it sounds.

I have worked with many cats since I used to volunteer. If it is ear mites look inside the ear if it looks like coffee grounds then its ear mites. From what it sounds like, my guess is fleas. Go to the vet where they will give you meds for your animal. For me flea collars have not worked but actually the fleas hide UNDER the collar. Get advantage or something like that which will work for about a month

Those are ear mites. Get your kitty to the vet asap. The ear mites are very painfull to the kitty. If money is a problem. You can use olive oil. Put some on a cotton swab then gently cover the inside of the ear with it. Let the oil stay in the cats ear long enough for the ear mites to get entangled by the oil, The very gently use a cotton swab to remove the ear mites. Bare in mind they have attached themselves to the ear so there will be sore spots in some places. The vet has more sophisticated methods for getting rid of ear mites. If you use Frontline instead of Advantage the Frontline also gets rid of ear mites and fleas.

Definitely Fleas. Take him to the vet! They can spread to you and your other pets, so be prompt in getting an appointment. If its a calm kitty, give it a bath will flea killing shampoo. Be very careful around the ears and eyes. If hes got them on his ears, they are likely everywhere else on his body too. Once you get him flea free, buy a flea and tick killer and repellent like Advantage or Frontline. This will help keep your kitty happy and healthy. Is it an outdoor cat? Do you have other outdoor animals that your cat is in contact with? Do you live in a rural area? If yes to any of those, you MUST get a flea and tick medicine.

If they are spreading to his face, it would be fleas. If they are deep down in his ears and very black inside, then it is ear mites. Both can be treated by products carried by your vet. If your cat has fleas then you will probably need to treat your home as well. Fleas hatch every two weeks and then you will have a re-infestation. Usually treated with bombs (remove animals) and then re treat again in 2-3 weeks.

Most likely ear mites but they could also be ticks, fleas or cat acne.
Ear mites all you have to do is take him to the vet, same with fleas and ticks or just go to a local pet store and buy something over the counter, however the vet is probably better. Cat Acne is a little trickier....you could go the vet but you'd just be wasting a lot of money. All you need to do is get him in a secure position (have a friend help you when you do this) and pop his "pimples" You have to get a good grip but once you get them they dont come back. However if there are alot of them its probably better just to go to the vet. If it is cat acne here are some causes that you can probably change in your home.
If his food or water dish is plastic change it. Plastic causes cat acne. Hope this helps and good luck to you both.
