eat a variety of foods. Just don't over indulge what you eat...stay away from pop and anything that read high fructose corn syrup on the label. Start walking and riding your bike and swimming ..Good luck sweetie

Actually, depending on your height 130 is not big at all. But I know how it is to feel like you. When I was 14 all my friends would go on diets. I just stopped eating junk and started jogging for twenty minutes before sunset. This is a relaxing time and you won't bake in the hot sun. I felt better after I started and you know what? I lost more weight than all my friends. A whopping 12 pounds in two months.

Avoid junk food and white bread. Instead use whole grain and snack on fresh fruits and veggies. Raw is best. Water melon is a good snack filler with nearly any calories. In meats eat lean. This means things like grilled chicken, turkey, or hamburger with a low percent of fat. Stay away from bacon, salami, pepperoni, or anything fried. Fiber is good, as it will clean out you system quickly.

Good luck and consult www.webmd.com for more tips on healthy dieting.

Check out the link. It'll let you put in your age, gender, activity level, and then return the amounts of the specific WELL BALANCED foods you should be eating daily.

Be healthy.

Also, I was 14, 5'8", and ~130 lbs, and thought I was huge because of all the size 0 tramps around me. Just because you are more maturely developed does not make you overweight; you are closer to a healthy weight than your anorexic cohorts. And now, 15 years and two children later, I'd kill to have my teenage body/metabolism back.

Please do not go screwing up your metabolism (like I did) with crash diets, starvation, or caffeine/diet pills... It may help you drop five pounds, but your body will rebel and then you'll be in my shoes.

Go about it sensibly. If you truly are overweight, make gradual changes (limit sodas, increase water consumption, etc.) to effect a lifestyle change instead of "dieting". Your body will thank you for it down the road.

And don't forget to get your heart pumping. If nothing else, walk for 30 minutes every evening.

The main reason people put weight on in our modern society is a high intake of processed foods. That is because refined sugar is usually the 1st or 2nd largest ingredient. High fat intake comes in a far away second. This food intake is then combined with a decrease in activity.
A very good idea is to get a book covering the glycemic index and values of food and concentrate on eating foods with low GI values
So Plenty of green leafy vegetables, beans.
No potatoes, corn, peas & beetroot
small amount of carrots
Cut out bread, pasta and white rice
Brown rice in moderation is Okay
1 avocado in a week is fine and is a great source a necessary fats.
It is also fine to use a small amount of extra virgin olive oil in any salad dressings 1-2 teaspoons a day is fine

With fruits limit the intake to one piece a day and concentrate mainly in the citrus family

Meats: Lean meats including Pork, turkey and fish (my preference) especially the oily fishes which are high in Omega 3 Fatty acids 3-4 palm sized servings a week

Beverages: NO SOFT DRINK..... Cut right down on fruit juices
The very best fluid is filtered water. Notice I said filtered not bottled. If your mum and dad dont have a water filter encourage them to get one even if it just the refillable jug type. To flavour the water add a little lemon or lime juice. Drink 1 & 1/2 - 2 litres a day at least

The most important thing is to eat smaller meals but say have 5 in a day instead of 3
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF NOT EATING

If you do your body will not burn fat it will break down muscle first
The exact opposite of what you want it to do

Finally exercise but exercise smart not long
You want to do your exercise preferrably in the morning that way your base metabolic rate will be raised during your active hours.
Combine Aerobic ( ie fast walking, cycling, jogging or swimming)
with anaerobic ( weight sessions with relatively light weights but more repetitions). The fact that you are only 14 means that you would not lift weights where you have to strain too hard. Use the weight traing to build lean muscle because that is the type of muscle which burns more energy, thus helping you to lose weight.

The main thing is to be sensible about it all. Have fun with exercise, pick things you enjoy doing. Make sure you dont become solely measuring scales conscious. This is because its more important to lose inches. Plus as you grow your natural body will also grow in mass.
Do the above and you will succeed. You might also try this find a friend who wants to achieve the same goals. Encourage each other, and even exercise together
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Lots of fruits and vegetables
Whole Grain Bread
Light Popcorn
Replace sodas with water or unsweetened tea or skim milk.
Basically just eliminate a lot of the sugar and fats that you consume and eat more healthy foods. This is a way to really just be more healthy not necessarily about losing weight but if you eat good foods and cut back on sugars and starches you will probably lose a little bit.

My doctor suggest that you dont really cut anything out of your diet at first food wise just to watch your portions. Maybe cut your portions in half. If you drink soda, drink diet. Water is the best way to go. You can get those crystal light packages to put in with your water makes it good. If you drink coffee and you put sugar in it, instead put sweetener. Try cutting portions first or look at what you are buying from the grocery store. Not all vegetables and fruits are good for dieting because they have caffiene and sugar in them and not necessarily will that give you energy to work it off either. White meat is better than red meat. I know i love steak so that one was hard for me. Watch the dairy. Maybe drink skim milk or 2% milk. I don't know why alot of people make a big deal out of charbs, you need charbohydrates to have energy to be able to function. I would start out with watching your portions. That is what my husband started doing and he has lost 10 pounds and he still eats pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, drinks soda occasionally, i think that is the best thing you could do. Alot of people dont know that everything you eat is going to break down into sugar anyways so any extras be careful of.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

First calculate your BMI, so you know how much you need to lose. For instance, 130 is UNDERWEIGHT if you are 6 ft 2 in. Use a scale instead of guessing your weight and track it at least weekly (weight at the same time of the day)

Then cut down on fat and carbohydrates and increase your activity (add some kind of exercise).

A quick fix is to cut out all snacks and desserts. If that's not enough, substitute lunch for a salad.

Good luck!

First of all, get of your behind and get active., You're a kid, so you should be getting enough activity to pretty much eat what you want and not worry so much about Oh My God! I ate one to many jelly beans!. I'm so sick of hearing people blame the food they eat as the only reason they are fat lardbutts. If the only exercise you get is typing on the internet and occasionally walking to the kitchen to get food, then there's your problem. An active lifestyle with running and playing like kids used to do before they got so damn lazy will make your metabolism work llike it should.
