My grandma didn't have alot of money, and when we went to her house she'd toast white bread and put mayo on it and fold it in half, we loved it. Anyone else have these?

A friend back in junior high liked mayo on white bread and when I went to her house I got in the habit of eating them too. Here's something a bit more weird... ever try a mayo and peanut butter sandwich?

Ok, I'm not ashamed to admit it...yes...I've had mayo sandwiches..not for reasons of saving money or being thrifty but, well, because I luv mayonnaise.
(and I've never shared this culinary delight idea with anyone else)

Growing up my favorite sandwich was:
white bread, mayo on "both" sides, lettuce, tomato and bologna.
(perhaps with some sliced onion added)

Then, for a quick snack with "lots" of flavor, I would occasionally simply take a slice of bread, put mayo on it, put another slice on top of that, put mayo on that one, and add one more slice of bread.
Yes...a "triple-decker" mayonnaise sandwich....So SUE ME! lol

Oh, and let me say this about Miracle Whip....YUUUUCK!
I must have Best Foods or Mrs. Schlorers Mayonnaise...
or any available mayo but, no thank you to the Miracle Whip.

we sometimes could not afford the bread, so had to just eat mayo. Only kidding, we would have bread and butter quite a lot because there was no money for anything to go on it. Thank goodness I earn a little bit more money these days, I have lived for weeks on 9p noodles and chicken stock cubes.

when i was a child i was a good friend of this girl who is a daughter of single mom.
i sometimes went to her house and her mom made us a lunch.
it was either a mayo sandwich with only sliced cucumbers in between or a ketchup pasta with only canned sweet corns.
her family was financially struglling but i really liked them and always enjoyed the foods her mom made for us.
i don't even know where they are or what they are doin now but sometimes i think of them and miss that simple lunch we had on a sunny day in summer just like now.

I like white bread with mayo and relish. Or, bread and butter pickles instead of relish.

Mayo and tomato for sure! With a little mustard sometimes. Really easy and really tasty!
