We are voting for people who want war to keep us "safe". When did Jesus tell us to kill others to enhance our safety? If we accept what Jesus taught, shouldn't we be trying to understand our Muslim brothers?

Seems like turning the other cheek got lost somewhere in here. The Christian martyrs that so impressed the Romans and made so many converts seem to have left the building.

Now it is "Onward Christian Soldiers."

That really may not be so inaccurate, however. Remember that the Jews were truly looking for a liberator, a Messiah, to kick the Romans out of their land. Didn't Jesus say something about "he who does not have a sword should go sell his cloak and buy one"?

It was only when the later books got written and Paul saw which way that wind was blowing - converting the teachings to a dying and ressurecting mystery god which truly did separate Christians from the Jews - that saved Christianity as a peaceful, non-threatening to the Romans kind of harmless cult.

So, maybe these killers are truly what Jesus intended. I doubt, though, that it will make things any better. Killing for peace is like...well, you know that rest of the phrase about ...for chastity.

And in 20 yrs we will all be eating at McDonalds in Teheran. Maybe or maybe not. Looks like a long war, this one.

you're hopelessly puzzled, and gets your head on straight away. firstly, when you consider that god is a fiction, the assumption of a sacrament in the eyes of god is mindless. Sexual orientation is genetic, and is not extra "deviant" than the colour of one's hair -- nor to any extent further "correctable". (all people who advised you in any different case is a charlatan, out to get you cash, or a fool.) And that may not a Christian us of a, nor the different faith.

I don't know what book you have been reading. I have no muslim brother.

You better go back and read your book, and perhaps "understand" this time around.

Good Luck.

Remember a people just disrespected Israel and God had them wipe them out, and they did!

You have a right, more than a right, a mandate to defend your country. If you do not you disrespect God.
Now I don't know about you but I don't want God mad at me.

Ah YOU go over there and try to understand them as they cut your head off, And I will ROFLMAO-

Absolutely.....I believe that we could sit down and discuss our common beliefs about Abraham and his two sons with the Muslims....And find all the common ground that we can.....Then discuss what Abraham did right and things he could have done better...... Remember, it was the descendants of Isaac not Ishmael who murdered the Messiah.

They don't understand us and don't want to.

There will be no peaceful coexistence as long as one side has no qualms about killing innocent people even their own to achieve a political and cultural goal.
