Be careful heating up anything in the microwave to put in baby's bottle. Make sure it's not too hot. Heating Dasani isn't going to hurt it. Don't do it with the lid on but I'm sure you already know that.

Okay, go ahead and ridicule, but yes, I heated both of my children's bottles in the microwave. I bought infant water (not spring water!) by the gallon and would fill each of their bottles up with water after I washed them so they would be ready to go when needed. When I needed a bottle, all I had to do was pop it in the micro for a few seconds. I would shake it a little, add formula, shake again vigourously. Never had any hot spots, did not affect the formula since it was added after the fact, and never had the plastic of a bottle melt. Yes, you "should" prepare the bottle on the stove or under running tap water; but it took me about 30 seconds to prepare a bottle. I preferred this as opposed to letting my children cry waiting for the bottle, especially during the midnight feedings. Easier for me and my children. They are both happy and healthy, so I think we managed just fine! BUT, if you are able to. There is one thing that is always ready to go, breast milk! If this is not an option, just be sure to be cautious in whatever method of heating you use!

Getting any sort of formula ready for a baby using the microwave is fine, as long as you are careful. But you need to remember that it takes a minimum of 2 minutes AFTER you take the bottle out of the microwave, for it to stop heating up.
A microwave works by exciting the molecules of whatever we put in there to rub against each other causing friction which results in heat. This excitation does not cease immediately when we take the food out of the microwave. We should ALWAYS let whatever it is stand for 2 minutes for this process to abate.
THEN do the wrist test to judge whether the formula is too warm.

Why are you heating water for a bottle? Let the baby drink it at room temperature or run it under the hot water tap after you pour it into a bottle. Heating formula or water in the microwave causes uneven heating which can burn the baby's mouth.

The bottle would melt in the microwave.
Or nasty plastic stuff could leach into the water.
Not to mention......if the baby is under 6 mos old the do not need water and it could actually be BAD for them and lead to water intoxication.
AND.....you should never microwave anything for a baby as it can have hot spots and burn them.

NO!!!
Purified water does not contain the natural minerals found in tap water, when heated it has nothing to deflect and absorb the heat, causing the spring water to become super heated, pouring it or adding anything into it will cause it to literally explode.
I nuked a cup of spring water for tea one day, It didnt boil because it was purified, After 5 minutes, I knew it had to be hot,
I put the tea bag in, and it literally exploded on my hands causing blisters.
You really want to do that to your baby?
You shouldn't give a baby water to begin with, it messes up their electrolyte levels.
If you are using it for formula, use tap water run on warm till appropriate temp.
If you have well water, yeah, bottled water is a good idea, but heat it on the stove top, not in the microwave.

Yes, it is okay. You can use the bottle, but for the uneveness just shake the bottle before you serve it to your baby. Also FYI heating up formula takes away some of the nutrients in the milk.

no..u shouldn't heat up a baby's bottle or water or formula in the microwave..the microwave doesn't evenly distribute the heat in a bottle & can cause hotspots & burn ur baby...it's better to put it in a baby bottle & stick it in a pan of boiling water or boil it in a pan but u have to let it cool so it won't burn ur baby...
